Ford just received a top quality rating compared to GM and Chrysler. But each manufacturer has various vehicles to choose from and some are better than others. So you really need to look at each model car and decide.

It really depends on the model. The last good American small car was the Focus, but they haven't been changed much since they came out in 2000. The Ford Fusion is a great midsize, and recieved an excellent reliability rating from Consumer Reports, which is regarded as the most accurate reliability study. The new Ford Taurus is a good car, Ford finally gave it a good engine and a decent look. The Mustang is great, I love the new body style and you can't argue with the performance to dollar ratio. Ford's crossover SUVs are all among the best in their classes. The Ford truck based SUVs are pretty average, and their trucks are great, but the F150 could use more power.
Consumer Reports gave 93% of Ford, Linclon, and Mercury vehicles an average or better reliability ranking.
Overall, I would say a Ford is a good choice, definately better than GM, and even better than Toyota in some areas.

I'm a Ford gal my self. Have 2. But can't say they are always the best to drive. They do have their fare share of mechanical problems. Chevy seems to have less. BUT I like Fords for comfort and room. Plus they seem to offer more luxury for less money. So I'd have to say Yes and No.

Not even close. I think the only auto Ford does well is the F150. It's a good value. Even mustangs are grosely underpowered, and inefficient. There is so much competition, and Ford has not adaquetly kept up with the competition.

best to drive = BMW
best on reliability = toyota
best on quality = honda
best on cheap price = hyundai
best on parts price = GMC
best as a lemon.... = Ford
