Are you referring to lower sodium soup?

For the lower sodium soups, the main change is eliminating the MSG from the soup. This reduces the sodium count quite a bit.

Edit...
Hmmm... reading up on the net. It appears that using sea salt (which is an unrefined salt) which has other types of salts (potassium, magnesium and calcium) besides sodium salt. So it's like using a real salt (sodium) and a salt substititute (non-sodium) mixed in one "natural" ingredient.

I just learned something new. I, too, thought sea salt was just another form of regular salt with the same amount of sodium.

Sea salt has more flavor in a smaller amount...so they can use less... I agree with you though, I just buy low sodium and add sea salt if I need it. I hate gimmicks.
