Sorry but GENUINE flu will knock you off your feet and have you bedridden for up to 10 days. If it is I think its wrong to mix with people and spread it around. I think what you have is a cold. Lemsip cold capsules are good. Hope you feel better soon. xx

This sounds like a cold. If you had flu you would not want to consult Yahoo answers as you would have a high temperature and be feeling a bit vague, and aching all over. As both cold and flu are viruses there is no effective treatment, but paracetamol will bring down the temperature as contain in Lemsip max strength. Make sure you have plenty of fluids. Sipping water is best and I am sure the od whisky won't do any harm although alcohol is dehydrating. No-one will thank you for a dose of your flu/cold so don't spread it around.

there is no cure for influenza, only prevention with a flu shot. What you describe tho, sounds more like a cold, and you may be able to nip it in the bud with Zicam nasal swabs. Zicam is a homeopathic remedy found in grocery stores and drug stores across the nation. Basically it is a zinc preparation, apply the swabs to the mucous membranes just inside your nose, the zinc is absorbed directly into the blood stream, and zinc block viral replication. It will lessen the severity and duration of any cold. Follow package instructions, I have found the swabs to be more effective than the spray or the lozenges made by the same name.

Take Vitamin C. The best is Ester-C cause it's stomach friendly. Drink Gatorade cause it has electrolytes which is good for you especially if you are dehydrated. If you have a cough and/or sore throat try Horehound lozenges. Make some homemade chicken noodle vegetable soup and be sure to put garlic, oregano, and ginger in the soup.

1 cup of honey
1/4 cup brown whiskey(Jack Daniels is fine to use)
1/4 cup of lemon juice

Mix together and heat over medium heat.
Drink it.
May sound crazy, but it is called a hot toddy and has been used for years in the south and works better than anything else! Take some Vitamin C and echinacia!

the thing with all these medicines is that they only work for short periods before you have to drug yourself up again so i am afraid bed rest and plenty of fluids and keeping warm are probably the quickest way of getting over flu, let it run its course, you may feel like pants but if you want to, i use neurophen cold and flu if im really desperate, but otherwise i curl up on the sofa with a good magazine and hot water bottle and suffer!! xx

ok foget lemsips etc - get some strongish decongestant tablets and paracetamol ( to lower temp and sooth aches)
have a teaspoon of honey and lemon in a cup and top up with boiling water

its essentially the same but if you take the paracetamol rather than the lemsip you can take a higher dosage

you have a cold dear not flu, warm some lemonade and mix with 2/3 capfuls of whiskey, you'll sleep & sweat like a pig, but it will help clear it quicker, also get some vitamin c tablets 500mg, the ones that you suck, that will help build your immune system, a few nights of the whiskey & lemonade, should have you ready to party!!!
