If you don't have toothpicks, break raw spaghetti & use it to create a tent w/ the Saran Wrap.

Wait until the frosting has set and then carefully place the saran wrap over the cupcake, having enough to fold under. I find Reynold's Wrap works much better than saran wrap. Saran wrap might require using tape since it doesn't work as well as the Reynold's.

Use a cardboard flat used for cans. Put toothpicks in the top of the cupcakes then wrap.

One option might be to place your cupcakes in the disposable foil pans. You can get a variety of sizes that come with the clear plastic lid. If you decide to use these, then you won't have to worry about smashing the tops of you beautiful cupcakes.

Put a toothpick decoration in each one then wrap. the toothpicks help keep the plastic from touching the icing

go to the dollar store and get the small zipper bags.
sit them in the bags. this way the icing won't get too messy and stick to the plastic.

my guess would be to put them in a container, with bread in the bottom, and put seran wrap over the top... breads just to help keep the cupcakes fresh... idk i see my mom doing it so I'm just observing
