I am a 13 year old boy and my bro is 5. Our parents tell him to go to the toilet before sleeping and 50 percent of the time he does. We live in a small apartment and share a room. At night time i just hang out on my ps3 and play online games etc and he plays his ps2. When he gets tired he turns his off and sits next to me or on my lap, this is when he is getting tired.
Some times he moves around a bit and shows signs of needing to pee and I tell him to go but he then says he doesn't need to.
Eventually he falls asleep on my lap usually and i just leave him there while i play my ps3. When I go to sleep (usually pretty late everyones asleep) I wake him up and tell him to go to the toilet. He usually says no but if he says he wants to he wants me to take him into the bathroom because he is scared, is this OK to do?if he doesn't go he wakes up askin me to take him to the toilet because he is scared. If he wets the bed or has an accident i get him changed how cn i get him to pee before bed

Of course this is okay. Perhaps he is afraid of the dark. Try putting little nightlights in the bedroom, hallway and bathroom. He'll grow out of it.

Just curious but why are you doing so much of the caregiving? If he has an accident your parents should be taking care of him. Second of all he should have a strict bed time routine. Staying up and playing video games until he's tired isn't healthy for him or you for that matter. On the other hand I gotta give you credit for taking care of your little brother the way you do. Cutting out liquids close to bed time will help elminate some of the problem unless there is an underlying problem. Lots of things can trigger bed wetting.

Tell him - "New rule! Gotta pee before you sit in my lap!"
And ENFORCE it. Don't ask if he has to pee, just TELL him to go.
If he does need to go in the night, and is scared, this is normal at his age. It is OK to go with him.

He might be glad spending time with you and dose not want to miss out in any fun. So you can try saying "I have to go pee, do you?" or "If you have to pee I can pause the game so you can go."

Good Luck!
