My friend has just got back from a holiday in Turkey, where she met a Turkish lover. I want my friend to be happy (which she is very at the minute) and I am glad she is so happy right now... however if he is not true I know she would be really unhappy and I would be so gutted for her. She has been single for a while and I dont want him to take advantage of her for immigration purposes, she is now on about marrying him (she was only with him for 6 days). He told her he tried to get to the UK twice before but they just took his money (£2000) and wouldn't let him have a visa. Is that common in Turkey? Any feedback would be appreciated... I may sound like a killjoy but I really don't want my bestfriend having her heart broken.

I appreciate the visa would probably have some sort of fee, but £2k seems a bit extortionate...

lol Joe, my boyfriend agrees on that and so do I... BUT I don't want to lose another friend, not saying I want him to come here necessarily either though. My bf suggested that he could be a paedophile or rapist or summin, how the hell would we know? I'm even more concerned after reading some of the answers.

it sounds like he just wants your friend for a visa!
tell her not to get married to him, many many people to that in these areas for a visa to a very rich country like that. anyways visa arent given very easily anymore after 9/11 and the madrid bombing..etc so if she really wants him to come to england then ask her to sponser him. it might take upto 5 months.

The man is a liar and it is clearly stated on the British Embassy website that in the event of a refusal, fees are not refundable.The cost would be around £60 for unlimited entries over a 6 month period.See the website.He is a scammer using the girl to get entry into the UK.You must sit down with her and relate other experiences to her.You can also do your own checks on the guy their are many websites to help you.But you must get this insane idea out of her mind poor kid.

She would be crazy to marry him, I bet he has been telling her how much he loves her and how beautiful she is. We all know the reputation these Turkish guys have and they have admit ed themselves on documentaries etc that they are only looking for a visa. They would chat up and marry your granny to get here legally. He"s lying about the money, he will ask her for money soon (you just watch).

To apply for a 6 months tourist visa costs £64. There is only one way to spent £2000; he wanted to immigrate and he paid the guys to take him to UK but they failed. I applied once for tourist visa to UK when i was a student and my application denied because of financial situations. Conclusion; they guy is lying...

She has only been with him 6 days? He has fed her a bunch of lines of how much he is in love with her, and the bull about his story of the UK. She would be crazy to marry him.

If she loves him so much, why doesn't she just move to Turkey to be with him? No room left in the UK, plenty in Turkey.
