Hello

My father smoked for 48 years, he's now 64 years old.

4 Years ago he had 3 bybasses and now he can't smoke anymore or he will be dead.

He regrets that he has never quit smoking, but now he still lives and he's happy to be alive.

Here are all informations:

The affect of smoking on health is that fatty deposits build up in the arteries in the body. Over time the lining of the arteries become 'furred up'. The effect can also lead to a restriction in blood flow to the heart which can also cause a heart attack. Cigarrettes contain poisonous fumes and gases these include carbon dioxide, cionide, carbon monoxide. They also contain nicotine, which is also extremely addictive. Tar can also build up in the lungs. - Best advice, do'nt start. Take it from someone who knows!!.

#1 I suggest you go to www.whyquit.com
it has tons of fantastic info that can teach you about the effects of smoking.

I will tell you from my personal experience the affects smoking has had on my loved ones.

November 12th 2004 My Father died after a 6month 1day battle with lung cancer. He smoked for 30 years. As early as a year before he was diagnosed with cancer her had a persistent cough that was usually followed by him spitting up blood. He died a VERY painful death.

January 22nd 2005 My Grandmother [Dad's Mom] died after a month long battle with lung cancer. She smoked a pack a day for as long as I can remember. We buried her exactly one month and one month and ten days after my Daddy.

December 24 2005 My Grandfather [Dad's Dad] died due to heart failure. His doctors said it was due to several years of smoking.

Today, My Mother lives with COPD, emphysema, and many other illnesses due to 30+ years of smoking & she still smokes.

I lost so much in only one year that I can never have back. Nearly half of my family is gone, that quick. So the effects of smoking all lead to two things Tragedy & Heartache.
