Is this your teachers question or is this your question for a school paper/project?
I think a better question would be to ask why does the media overstate or sensationalize the facts?
The answer here would be easy. Newspapers want increased market share in the media. No news sells like bad news. Global warming is made a crisis by scientist and then the media simply adds fuel to the fire.
The more people read the newspaper by sensationalism the more the ad's will pay off for businesses. This is not by accident because businesses want to maximize their returns from advertising (some media ad's are can be very expensive). So the more a media outlet can get people to view their media the more ad's they'll sell.
This global warming scaremongering is no different. Sensationalize the facts to get more market share in the media.

the corporate media brainwashes all and multiple, it would not p.c.. on liberals. The brainwashing isn't all at a wide awake factor, in case you watch any mainstream media you've been contaminated. that includes fake. the international warming stuff is getting previous. definite, I easily have heard that the "Powerz" are utilizing this as an excuse to implement "international governance". it would also be actual, and it does sound a probability. because i'm no longer easily "contained in the large club" to cite George Carlin, it isn't going that i will ever comprehend for particular. I easily don't have any more began to verify a concise medical info showing the thermodynamic effect of CO2 contained in the ambience and precisely the way it motives international warming. i'm quite particular such a proof does no longer exist. If it does exist i might want to sense free to take under consideration it. It extremely does no longer remember how commonplace this idea is or isn't with scientists or everybody else. What concerns is info, and the burden of info is with the proponents of a idea, no longer its critics.

I think it is ridiculous how the "media" presents the worst case scenarios a lot of the time. But I think it's even more so ridiculous that some people take that at face value. Whenever a new study comes up "proving" (which is a word that should be taken very lightly in the situation of global warming) that GW is caused by humans, people basically go crazy over it - shoving it in people's faces.
Well, for every piece of hard evidence that proves GW is human-caused, there's a hard piece of evidence that says its not. And so on and so on. Just...be careful with what you see.

There is important proof that there is a significant man-made cause of climate temperature change.
Aircraft are the only proven man-made cause of climate change, resulting in an immediate change in temperature over North America diurnally by over 1 degree Celsius (Travis, 2002).
It was predicted by many earlier global studies, including NASA, that aircraft could have a significant impact on our climate but it was not proven until all of the aircraft could be grounded in some region.
When aircraft were removed from the sky over North America, because of the tragic events of 9-11, the temperature quickly reverted back to pre-1950s over the US diurnally. Not coincidently, the 1950s was the advent of jet air travel.
Sadly, flights are supposed to triple by about 2015-2020 and double every 8-10 years thereafter, until 2050, if left unchecked; this is likely to lead to something catastrophic in our lifetime.
Some of my advisors, including senior US government scientists/ climatologists believe that something catastrophic could begin as early as 2011 or so; if it has not begun already. However, no one knows for sure and generally, new aviation/ climate models have not been run.
*The real answer is to immediately limit flights and develop viable alternatives; however, the powerful air transport industry and the US government are opposed to them; would effect the economy (including the media's transportation/ recreation advertisement income and advertisers), but, so does climate change*.
The media doesn't get it either: They report it is everything else, focusing on carbon based emissions rather than cause and effect.
One thing I have discovered about most of the media: they are Generally lazy and that they report what the government and backed industry says as "gospel", while ignoring actual proof. They also teach in school to report both sides instead of real investigative journalism. (There are exceptions: see USA Today link below.)
I am not sure that it is just a liberal media bias, as I have found that the conservative media is more interested in economic gains and tends not to report certain things that goes against the rich and mighty interests.
But it all comes down to this media: you take the planes out of the sky and the temperature immediately is effected... DUH!

Newspapers for either side protect advertisers rather than consumers.
Liberal or conservative, the fact remains that the worst sources of pollution are petro-chems in cleaning and body care products consumers use every day. All of these petro-chems go down our drains and end up right out in our environment to cause problems.
Until consumers comprehend that chemicals in the products they choose cause harms to them, their children and our environment, not much is going to change.
I can't imaging a newspaper printing a story relating to the dangers of triclosan, a chemical in almost every cleaning and body care product in use today. When this chemical is released into the environment and comes in contact with sunshine, it breaks down into dioxins.
So, I doubt if 'liberal' or 'conservative' newspapers are trying to hide the truth about global warming due to their political stance. The truth is hidden simply to make money and protect advertisers.

Did a teacher really ask that question? If so, you need to take it to your parents and the principal.
I can only say that this is the same liberal media that have conspired to hide the truth of creation behind the myth of evolution, have made up all these stories about dinosaurs to hide that the Earth is only 6,000 years old, who pretend that Islam, Judaism, Hinduism and other faiths are equally as valid as Christianity, and who perpetuate the myth that you can sail around the world without falling off the edge.
I guess anyone can become a teacher these days.

Why try to confuse a scientific question with politics? There are ways of tackling the problems that draw on the philosophies of both left and right. It seems to me now that leading figures in the USA from both left and right of politics subscribe to the notion that man's activities are causing global warming. This is due to the overwhelming opinion of scientists who base their conclusions on a great deal of work.

They make extreme claims that our not true about global warming. Some scientist are bullied in to saying global warming is real others threaten them to ruin their credibility of scientist that share the Truth. The media presents what people say as fact even though there are many factors that science can still be unsure about. The media always presents the worst case scenario too. They try to place people in fear and make them think we need to take action. In reality however people can just sit back and do nothing. Global warming is the natural cycle of the planet.
