Holy crap. I would have lost it. First of all, contact your local press. The newspaper, the radio station. Get the word out that this person abused your child while attending school. Next thing, contact the board of education. Then contact Children Protective Services. This 'teacher' needs to be fined and fired. There is absolutely NO excuse for a teacher spanking a child!! That is not there responsibility. And since your daughter has a documented medical issue, the teachers and staff that are around her should be trained in how to deal with issues!!! Oh, man. Good luck and give them HELL!!

you need to find out if it is legal where you are. Corporal punishment was outlawed in Australia over 20 years ago. So teachers are not allowed to do this but to be honest it is what some kids need. I just go to my kids class and there are several I would like to give a swift swipe to the butt on. These kids disturb the class constantly so the teacher has to spend all her time with the little sh*ts than the ones who want to learn. A smack can be very effective and if it was bought back in the kids may respect teachers more. Now a kid mucks up because he knows nothing can be done. A trip to the principal is not met with terror anymore, kids just don't care. They get their lecture and then go back to what they were doing.
I am guessing that a lot of people on here are American. No wonder you are called the suing capital of the world. I cannot believe the amount of people saying to sue. The teacher made a mistake. Go talk to her and state that you are not happy and maybe sit in on the class for a few weeks and watch your child and how she behaves.

Is your daugher on med. for her ADHD? Before you went to the principal and the superintendant did you speak with the teacher? I am a teacher and understand how this could have happened. I know this reply will make you furious, but try to see things from the teachers point of view. This may be a constant problem, she may have given several warnings and tried other disiplinary methods. Your daughters "not sitting still" may also have been affecting other students behavior near her. Remember too that the teacher may have just been have a bad day, she's not perfect! A teacher does have athority to paddle without parent contact unless a written note is sent asking that your child not be paddled at the beginning of the year. This may be something you need to consider doing in the future.

Does your school district allow corporal punishment? If so, then you should have gotten a form at the beginning of the school year asking you whether or not you give the school permission to spank/paddle your kid. Even in places that do allow corporal punishment, they are NOT allowed to do it without a parent's consent, so if you never gave them permission to spank your daughter, you can and should call the police.

That depends, was this public or private school? If it was public school, did you sign a "corporal punnishment agreement"? If not, report your concern to the state. Depending on your state, it may or may not have been illegal. If it was a private school, it was not illegal. If you do not like their system, take your child to another school

While I agree with you that no one should be spanking your daughter without your permission, it sounds like you have a serious problem with her. ADHD is no excuse for not behaving or sitting still in school, as it is a distraction to other children. Do what you need to to protect your daughter, but also teach her a little discipline and respect.

regrettably counseling, scientific care, etc, do no longer artwork, teenagers in common terms understand one element: Step a million) Take all of her toys away. Step 2) Take her television priveledges away. Step 3) If she throws a fit over the 1st step or 2, tell her that if she ever needs to have any of her toys returned or watch television returned, she is going to commence showing you and her instructors some admire. I say you, via fact I heavily doubt that if she is appearing up at school that she is treating you any in yet in a diverse way, and with the uncommon exception, dad and mom in many situations shoulder a super form of the blame for how their infants act. She desires to appreciate that her habit is unacceptable, and until eventually she has an suggestions-set exchange, that her toys will commence being thrown away one by utilising one, and she or he will have the potential to no longer be allowed to video demonstrate television, play outdoors, or see any of her buddies. Assign her some chores, and verify she does them. tell her that she would be in a position to earn returned her toys and different priveledges by utilising doing those chores, and by utilising showing progression at school. it relatively is perplexing, yet you may desire to be strict - infants can tell once you're susceptible willed, and that they are going to take finished great element approximately it.

you need to make a big fit about it. in most schools it is illegal to hit a child. if any teacher hit my kids they would be in jail or at the least have the crap knocked out of them. no one but you has a right to punish your child by touching them in any way. go to the school board and file a police report. and to the person that said teachers are not trained to handle special needs kids yes they are in most schools. the Americans with disability act mandates that all teachers have the training to deal with kids with special needs. so weather the child has ADHD or not they never have a reason to hit them. I would also remove my child from that class.Good luck

Unless you live in one of those backward states that still allows corporal punishment call the police and Child Protective Services. Try and find out if she has a history of this sort of stuff and if she does, sue the district for not getting rid of her. Demand that your child be moved to another class. And don't let them bully you!

Have her/him arrested. NO ONE HAS THE RIGHT TO LAY A HAND ON YOUR CHILD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Little things like this go on the teacher's record. Maybe others have reported a similar situation before. Open your mouth. Be heard! The nerve of that teacher, probably a lousey parent too. Tell the principal you are calling the police & follow through. You or your child did nothing wrong. The teacher did.

DENISE D. You are a psycho, I feel sorry for your children.

Did she really abuse the child or did this just bruise your ego?
Be honest!
Do you have a valid case? We sometimes don't know how and when to pick our fights.

Regular school teachers are not trained to handle your special needs kid. Teachers are human and they get fed up with children acting out and abusing them and disrupting their class. If the teacher left bruises or imprints that showed signs of abuse, then you have a case, but if not, you will be pushing the pencil to get this solved for a long time.

I have a daughter that has this diagnosis and other things that are medically wrong with her. She can be a hand full. Even I am at my wits end on what to do with her. Her teacher is at the end of his ropes. He express the importance of teaching her (my daughter) at home what he is trying to implement, and I him concerning what I expect of him towards her. We both agree on the same issues.

Her case manager told me to put her in a private school that specialize in Autism's. The state pays for it if the school district releases her and recommends she goes there. We are working with the public schools to have her released. This special school offers better help and benefits to enhance and improve her skills. My daughter have to be taught and equipt for life on how to survive and be independent. She will not always have me but she will have life skills that will advance her.

There are special schools for your child where trained teachers are in place to meet her and your needs.

I believe in corporal punishment where there is no abuse but a good old fashion tightening-up that want kill the child or abuse them.
