Again, why say it's every single Muslim and every single Pakistani? I am in Pakistan right now and have been since October (8th?9th? We left the 7th) The Pakistani people around me are angry with the terrorists and are venting their frustration over how Al Qaeda keeps claiming to be Muslims when their actions are completely unislamic. I am an American white woman. The people I've met have wanted to get to know me. Children are coming up to me giving me little trinkets as gifts and I'm trying to convince them it's ok but they won't listen. I'm welcomed here with open arms. It's not all Muslims and it's not all Pakistanis. It happened in Karachi. A woman from this area was injured (we're in Pir Mahel, 2 hours from Faisalabad). The people are all saying that Islam does not forbid a woman to hold political office.
I don't know a single Muslim who backs what those evil extremists are doing. We're people too, and loss of life is always wrong. Do you see the difference?

Its all Political Propoganda, as elections are right around the corner and these things are common during these times in the sub continent.
About woman heading a country, Islamically she has a duty towards her family not outsiders. With Pakistan it can be relaxed as it anything but an Islamic country (For a country to be Islamic it requires a full implementation of Sharia) and is democratic so why the hullabaloo over Benazir. I dont get the plot though if Benazir runs for President/Prime Minister, Al Qaeda has a problem and then in Bangladesh one has a lady head of state Khaleda Zia until recently and none had a problem with that!!! Thats Hypocracy!!!

I don't know which attack you mean, the one yesterday or the previous day....There is a bomb blast everytime in Pakistan, then
why should Banazir wants to visit Pakistan while it is in tense situations and under no security. Everyone knows Majority of Pakistanis or Muslims are against these filhty acts. Still there are some ignorants out there who are brainwashed to believe every ignorant act they commit is a favor for Islam. May Allah guide them.

"Suicide bombings can be stop" easily all we have to develop is good intelligence, good law enforcement agencies, good people police relationship (People can be the greatest spies of police in order to stop such terrorism), tightens the checking in trains and city to city buses & if President Musharraf step down then this suicide bombings will either get less or will be fully over. But if Benazir comes this suicide bombings will not be stop and Khuda na khuasta Mushrraf andBenazir both join to form a single government then we should be ready for uncountable suicidal attacks.

Thank you for your first-hand account of information. I do so enjoy hearing about how the world is in other places outside the US.
That being said, I don't know anyone who thinks all Muslims are terrorists. I know plenty who believe that just about all terrorists are Muslims. I am sure the attack you heard about there was perpetrated by a Muslim. That doesn't mean all Muslims support this sort of action, but it can't be denied that they are killing in the name of Islam, as they define it.

You are right, people are just people and each one has a good side anda bad side. but Islam does not permit women to take office because a place of women belongs to the house and its man to take office.. This is true, i dont know if you saw CNN God's Warriors, Amanpour interviewed the egyptian and she laughed when the man said this. I dont see Bhotto will remain in office for long, Pakisthan is a very corrupt country. But if democracy prevails it will be good,
You are surrounded by people who are in support of Ms B. hence you are going to hear one side of the story, but i am aware that islam does not allow a woman to rule a country. that is for sure.

there is alot of prejudice against muslims + pakistanis alike all you need to be is a good influence. Extrmists need ignorance that's why most of the people they recruit are only goat herders. they dont like our ideas so the only answers they have is to kill us.

I was talking to someone there just minutes before the attack. He said it was surprisingly peaceful.. I had told him to stay inside. He is a nice person with a nice family. They are peaceful people, and worry constantly about their own safety, because of crazy people.
It is so unfortunate....the people there have my sympathy. Her supporters were peaceful people, and happy to see her.

There is a difference. ALL non muslims of this world find these acts unacceptable. Not all muslims think they are unacceptable.
