My Nikon Coolpix P1 fell out of my pocket into salt water... it was in the water for maybe 3-4 seconds. Now I am going to put it in a bag of rice...Because I read it gets the camera to work.. I really need this camera to work (I take digital photography) and it is my mothers to boot. any remedies?

Never heard of the bag of rice rescue. If that doesn't work, put a fan on it and just let it set for days before you even think about trying to power it up.

Many times, if you just let something dry out before putting the juice to it, it survives. If you hit it with power while it is still wet, you may fry some of the components.

R.I.P. Nikon Coolpix P1.

99.99% chance its now a paperweight.

Repairs, if possible, will be at your expense and probably cost more than a new camera.

Enjoy shopping for your mom's new camera.
