LOL...no, all archaeological, paleontological and geological evidence we have found in the ground disproves the idea that the earth is 6,000 years old.
Basically, you can either draw conclusions from ALL of the actual evidence at our disposal, or from the theory implied in a book written by Bronze Age primitives.

Yeah, 6000 years old. And I'm the Queen of France. How do they know the oceans weren't salty 3000 years ago. Were they there? I thought that the oceans were salty all the time. People are always saying things are the way they are because God made them that way. How do they know God didn't make the oceans salty? If he didn't, how did they get that way? Did he add that later? If so, does that mean he was wrong in the first place? The earth is way older than 6000 years. Some people just don't want to accept the fact that we have been here for a very long time.

Avtually, it is MAN that has been around for over 6000 years. According to a small group of scientists, the universe may be about 13 billion years old, and the earth about 4 billion years old.
If this were true, it would pose no problem for a Christian, since there is nothing in the bible to contradict any "age of the universe" theories.

2000 year intervals between major biblical events, as in the 2000 years between the pre-biblical astrological ages of man..... Why am I not surprised?
No wonder the bible warns off looking at astrology. Look at the pre-existing astrological markers and ages and it is obvious where the bible was plagiarised from. It's no surprise then that the bible warns off looking at other religions, as they were mostly also plagiarised ultimately from the same source.
Anyway. The light from distant stars is older than any pseudo-biblical claim to the age of the universe by several orders of magnitude. This is determined by very basic physics.

I don't know the answer exactly. But isn't it funny how creationists will take two conclusions in from scientists and then accept the one that supports their conclusion. Then take issue with the scientific process by saying "no one knows for sure?"

The earth is much older than 6000 years, that is obvious from archeological evidence.
As a Christian, it doesn't bother me at all. I know there is so much about the universe and creation that I do not understand. God can do anything, with anything...

Only God knows for sure, but I can't honestly believe the world is millions or billions of years old. I mean think about it, 6,000 years is a long time, but can you fathom millions or billions of years? That just seems utterly wrong. Science is not exact. Remember, when I was in school, Pluto was a planet, now we know it's not a planet. Scientists change their minds daily.

To tell you the truth, I don't really care how old the earth is. Knowledge of that will not deepen my relationship with Christ ...which is my goal.

no older then 12,000 years and no one has proven it to be older than that. theres more evidence that the earth is young than evolution which is a total lie and extremely stupid with absolutly nothing backing it up except the people trying to prove it to be true.
