can I just give you guys a (((((((HUG))))))
I sit on here and so often see bad things being said about Christianity ...
however it is usually in defense of something some fundie has said
and there goes a tit for tat all night , back and forth between fundies and " others "
and you guys sit there , probably quite sad that things are being said about you , yet you do not deserve it
we often forget that there is another type of Christian out there , less vocal , more tolerant and respectful
who just follow the teachings of Jesus , the turn the other cheek or love thy neighbour rules
for the " others " .... can we give these guys a hug please ?

There you go showing your intolerance of US fundies again. Pot calling the kettle slightly rusty one thinks.
As for turning the other cheek, you may need to study the doctrine a bit deeper to understand it hmmmmm praps not.
Typical manipulation tactics. Put one lot down to build yourself and others (ones that agree with you) up.
The intolerant or intolerance are often intolerant in my experience.

The words of the Gospel bring offense, Jesu when e spoke often brought out anger in his hearers and often spoke of sin rightousnes and Judgement, Jesus naveer stayed less vocal more tolerant or respectful, he spoke the truth even it ticked somebody off, nor did Jesus ever tell us as Christians to to remain quiet and less vocal, his command was to go intoall the world and preach the Gospel to every creature. while the les vocal more "tolerant" christian may fit your definition of the way a christan should be, those who do so are flying in the face of jesus's words and examples.
what is love? being afraid to speak up and tell you the truth, or teling you the truth and saving you the pain of eternal consequences? I would suggest that the former is a form of deprived indiffernace, like knowing that there would be a great fire consume a theater and yet you dont want to embarras yourself or seem Intolerant so you fail to warnt hem and they burn up into ashes. I wont let up shut up or give up until I have done that which my savior commands "go ye into all the world and preach the Gospel to every creature" So now heres a question for you and the readers.
Would you consider yourself to be a good person?
Have you ever lied?
have you ever stolen something or used Gods name in vain?
have you ever looked at someone with lust?
see if you have said yes to these questions then by your own admission your a lying theiving blapshemous adultutrer at heart. Im not exempt from Gods Justice, I would be seen the same way, nothing we have ever done is hidden from His Holy eyes, remebr the things you have done in secret? the things you thought none else knew about? the terribly firghtening news is that God does know, and everything we have done will be displayed in the open for all too see. How Embarrasing. The worst is that God is Just and hates sin and the soul that sins it shall die. Gods Justice will be given to those who have broken His law and that Justice is hell. the Good news is that jesus Christ died for you and i. we broke Gods Law, we deserve Gods wrath, but God turned his wrath and Justice toward jesus instead. The fine for your transgressions and mine has been payed in Full, Now we Must recive the forgivness, we do this by repenting (turning from sin) and trusting in jesus as you would trust a parachute if you were jumping from 30,00 feet. you wouldnt simply belive in the parachute, you would put it on. so repent and trust in jesus today, 150,000 people die every 24 hours, one day that will be you and I.
God Bless

We are all respectful so i don't really know what you mean. Maybe some ppl here need to change their idea of what a Christian is. The teaching of "Turning The Other cheek" isn't what you think it is - it doesn't mean to walk away from an argument or walk away from persecution...
Last week you were setting ppl up against us and you didn't correct it - you let ppl think Christians reported a question and got it deleted - when the poster deleted it himself and told you so - you let ppl believe it was Christians. Hugs sounds fake to me - and i don't sit here and feel sad about what ppl say about us - i know who is in control.
Something to think about??
I agree with edcw0214 - 'some' of what Andy said and Mrs Badgrumbles if I'm understanding her correctly...
Added: To Matthew P - well said - and i receive your love intended in your answer - although hugs here for me are very distasteful - but i feel yours coming from an honest and loving heart - so thank you. I love your answer - it's so true.
God bless you. ~Shalom~
Edit: I agree with Mrs Badgrumbles again: in my experience those intolerant of intolerance are always the 'intolerant' ones

Indeed there are some Christians who are just plain stupid... but those who never get attacked at all or are never included in the group that get's ragged on probably aren't the ones following the teachings of Jesus. Jesus didn't want us to be quiet... he wanted us to teach all nations. He didn't say that we'd just sit here, he said that we would be hated. The bible didn't say that all who live Godly in Christ Jesus shall receive hugs from those who hate controversy... it said that all who live Godly in Christ Jesus shall suffer persecution. So here's a ((((((((Hug)))))))) to all of those loving Christians who out of a true heart attempt to spread the good news of Jesus and hold a moral tempest among the brethren... giving an answer for the hope that is within them

in case you dance with the dancers, cry with the criers, shaggy dog tale with the jokers, and argue with the arguers, i think of it relatively is being respectful. faith has consistently been a chief source of bigotry. yet as Atheism is a faith, (and that they are going to argue approximately that) i've got not chanced on them to be an exception. some are respectful, some are no longer. Christians are the comparable. And in case you desire to communicate tolerance, the satanists have been given us all beat!

I think that is nice of you to say Pangel but it makes Christians sound like doormats. Christianity has nothing to do with "doing kind things to others" or being tolerant, in order to gain respect from non-christians it is about knowing God on a very close one to one basis. To judge someone only as a good Christian based on a stereo typed image is utterly wrong. God can make the foulest heart clean and sometimes it takes a while, even a lifetime, so just because we sometimes don't "fit" into your "typical quite Christian" viewpoint, please tar us all with the same brush.

Yes it is sad that so many Christians who are for the most part decent, kind people get the opprobrium generated by a minorority of agressive loud fundamentalists.

I'll have to bet Jesus is proud of you. Hugs to all my fellow Christians, and to those who have not yet come to see the light.
It is true, you can attract more flies with honey than you can with vinegar, so perhaps turning the other cheek is best, seek to enlighten, leave the judging up to our Lord. We all have such a long journey, it behooves us to help each other along. God Bless

sincere HUG back - my grandmother was similar to what you speak of. For her religion was a special relationship between her and God, she NEVER spoke of her beliefs or accomplishments within the church. I guess she understood what religion was formed around, lovin thy brother n sister.
