Hey,
Im only in grade 8...and there are alot of "love couples" or "liking things" in my school. I have a goal, and its to go to Harvard, and I know I dont have the time to like someone or date. But I really want to try it out ( I dont like anyone right now though, because everyone is just so FUGLY and MEAN)
Theres a thousand of guys waiting to date me, but :
1) Im scared that my parents will get MAD
2) I dont have the time for dating
3) Dating is a waste of time
BUT:
1) I want to try it out
2) There are guys I can date
3) I think im old enough to date.

You are definitely old enough to date. But it's really up to you if you want to. If you want to go for it, but don't push it on yourself. It's your decision.

don't date someone just because you want to know what its like. Date someone because your you're interested in them and you want to date them. your still young you have plenty of time. im 19 and in my first relationship. while my friends and sister were all dating i wasn't and that sucked but i had faith and had trust that God would bring me the perfect guy for me and he did. Dating isn't a waste of time when your in love. you'll know when its time to start dating and when you've found the right guy. Don't worry about your parents if your a good kid, responsible, good grades, and don't get in trouble, your parents have no reason to get upset. you can still go to Harvard and live your dream as long as you don't let love get in the way of that. if the guy really loves you he'll wait. but like i said your still young forget what everyone els is doing and just focus on school.

8th grade is kinda young to date, although not by today's standards. How old are you? 13? 14? It wasn't that long ago that it was pretty normal to wait until you were 16 to date. You are too young to know what you are doing on a date and guys will take advantage of your youth and innocence. You will believe anything they tell you. That's why there's so many babies born to young girls. They are rushing adulthood. There's nothing wrong with waiting. I wish more people would wait. I wish more parents would be parents and set some rules.

Start out with groups. You have plenty of time for dating. If you want to go to Harvard you have to keep your grades up and get involved with extra curricular activities. Become well rounded. The dating thing will fall into place when the time is right for you.

Go with your head and not your heart! There will always be plenty of time to find love after your studies are finished! Sure go on a few dates but be very specific with your date and tell them you're NOT into relationships at the moment. Go Luck!

i dont think that your parents will get mad. and you know what you are in EIGHTH GRADE YOU DONT NEED TO BE SO JAM PACKED WITH STUFF. i personally think that you should wait until high school before you go out because those relationships do tend to be more mature and long lasting but if you dont want to wait, i suggest going out with a guy who has somewhat the same goals that you have. that way if you cant go out on a date with him because of school work he wont get mad. but also take into consideration that colleges only look at your high school grades when they take you into consideration. be a kid while you still can. dont cram your schedule with so much stuff that you cant go out on a date or hang with friends.
