all in one shopping day, but didn't notice it until you go to eat them? I've been shopping at the local grocery store in my hometown for a while now, but this last time I got groceries, there have been several items that I purchased and when I went to use them, I noticed that they've been expired for months! Although I do look at the expiration dates on some items like dairy products and bread, I don't look at the date on every item. Who has time for that anyway? I had some juice that expired in August of 2007, I had some frozen items that expired in July and were completely freezer burnt when I opened it. Do I call them and let them know this or what? I know they won't give me my money back, but at least they will be aware of it and hopefully look more closely at what they sell. Anyway, needless to say, I will not shop there again. I will drive to a further store from now on.

I would most definatley contact the manager. Especially since it seems to be a pattern. They could get in some serious trouble if someone were to get sick from the expired food that they sold. I would also tell them, calmly, that is why they have lost your business.

It's always worth a try to bring it to their attention. Even without a receipt they might offer a refund or exchange. I used to use a store with 3 month outdated yogurt and salad dressing that was TWO years out of date. If you don't have the receipt simply be nice and polite and say "I bought this 2 days ago, and went to use it yesterday and noticed the expiration date." If they ask where the receipt is, just say you assumed all their products were in date so you threw the receipt away!

Good luck, it works a lot of the time.

I always bring back items that I noticed are expired, and I usually get my money back, or at the very least a replacement item.

Since you've been shopping there for a while, I'm sure they'd be happy to take care of you.

Several items expired sounds like they are aware of this already or the owner leaves everything up to the employees who don't really care and never comes in. Nonetheless, I would definitely say something to the manager and owner. At least this way they'll know that others (public) are aware and maybe clean up their act.

U should def. call the manger and let them know about this. It would be terrible if people got sick b/c someone didnt do there job correctly. The manager may not even be aware of this. And u should see if u can get your money back. If there selling expired food, they may want to make u happy to keep this under control. Good luck

I would definitely let them know. They SHOULD reimburse you as long as you have your receipts. They might do it anyway if you frequent the store and they know you. I would tell them that I am reporting them to the Health Department. It is not safe to sell products that are expired for so long.

Yep, I've done this and I've contacted the store manager. It's gross! You're expecting to be buying food that's not ALREADY expired...I even think it might border on illegal...who knows.

I would definitely say something. In many states, they can get in serious trouble for leaving expired products out.

Of course...what if you had eaten them and gotten sick.....always hang on to your receipts...you never know. I was in a store one time and was buying cookies...I hadn't noticed they were expired but the register "beeped" and they wouldn't sell them to me.

I would take the items back with your receipt and complain. Chances are they will refund your money for those items! I'm sorry that happened to you, how annoying!
