if there was NO religion, how would this effect the world?

I think the world would be worse off. Leaders are driven to war because of their lack of a belief in God. They may use religion (in the case of these Islamic extremists) to try and further their cause, but it is actually their godless behavior which is the root of the problem. A person who leads a truly religious life and walks in the way of God, is not the ones that start wars. In this century alone, WW1 and WW2 were direct results of man's pride and his lack of a true belief that there is a creator who reigns above us

I guess, in that respect, with no wars or disease, the world would be extremely overpopulated, so maybe all roads lead to where we stand and the godlessness is just putting us in a place a little faster than we would get into eventually

Contrary to popular belief, morality exists outside of religion. When was the last time you heard of an Atheist bombing an abortion clinic, or flying a plane into a building, etc? Those atrocities are committed in the name of god by extremists.

Hmmm....looks like the religious right is more rate-happy today. I'm actually shocked that I would get snubbed for making a point that morality can exist outside of religion. It's sad if people can't see that. Atheists are hardly blood-thirsty crusaders.

without religion. i think we would be better off. But that is just religion. I dont want to know what a world would be like without the knowing God. But i would hope that the world would not go insane. Because its already crazy enough.

i think of it relatively is had a proverse result on society. i think of faith replaced into inevitable and that i beleive that perception is an developed area of who we are. Howevr the Abrahamic religions have led to no longer something yet cultural injury and harm to the international. that's going to be a extra effective place while they're long previous.

OK, just guesing here.

if there was no relegion we would base everything on science, there would NOT be war because the first wars started over relegion, and even now they are still over relegion. Since we would base everything on science and relatiy we would be ultra smart and technolagy advanded. but we would be helpless from any MAJOR distarer because we would be spended are entire lifes learning and making new things for science. It would be basicly normal life because it would have the same amounts of pros and cons, but i think most of th religous people wouldnt recomend it. but 10 points for asking though.

I believe society would fall apart. The main basis of religion is the hope of something better. No matter what religion it is they all strive to reach that next level. Without the faith and striving for something better, society would digress to a meaningless nothing.
