i was told one by a man who had gone into a coma state and was in a life or death situation he said what he experienced wasnt a dream, he found himself walking along a golden path towards a building in the distance but he didnt make it to the building as he was brought back but while he was in this place he experienced total peace and tranquility he had also gone back to the age of his prime and he could walk again, he was the only person walking on this path but there was a path below with about four people walking the opposite way who did not aknowledge him (this came from a non believer of spiritual experiences), he has told me he is now not scared of dying and i feel honoured that he felt he could share this with me.

Go to http://www.SpiritLessons.com and scroll down to the bottom of the page. There is a book written by Dr. Maurice Rawlings that talks of NDE's.

In addition, there is a book, A Place Called Heaven, written by Richard Sigmund that details what he saw when he had died and gone to Heaven after being dead for 8 hours after a car wreck. He came back to life in the morgue.

My Grandfather had a NDE. After suffering a heart attack in the hospital, he went to heaven and saw his wife (my grandmother) that had died before him. She told him it was not his time and that he needed to come back.

So, he came back to life (again, this was in the hospital) and lived for several more years.

I don't know anyone personally, but I have heard many stories. You want to look into the story of Don Piper. He was killed in a car accident and brought back to life through the power of prayer. The book is called 90 Minutes in Heaven. Even if you don't believe in Christianity, it is a very good book that would give you a bit of insight into the NDE debate.

One time I was sitting at a traffic light waiting to turn left across a major intersection. The shopping outlet exit where I was sitting had this huge hedge seperating the exit meridian and I couldn't really see cars that were heading to the interesection until they were right up on it (unless I were to pull my car out further past the crosswalk). As soon as the light turned green I became overwhelmed with this sense of peacefullness and comfort...and I couldn't push the pedal with my foot, and the car behind me layed on the horn (its a long light, so I understood), but then a Blue SUV went flying through the intersection at AT LEAST 50 mph. The guy behind me stopped honking and we both took a second to realize what had happened, that car would have hit one of us right along the driver side of the car for sure. The peace and comfort was from God. I know that for a fact. He has always watched over me and my family, and is always working every day miracles to all members of my family....this is just one that was special to me.

I know a man who was eletrocuted by 20,000 votls, on top of a roof with a crowbar, he tried to move a branch of a tree with the crowbar when he hit a power line with it instead. He died instantly and he could see his body and the paramedics working on him. After they revived him, (albeit without any arms) he had a series of dreams that he went to hell. There were so real to him that he changed his entire life, met Jesus, started a church and is doing great today. Alot of people won't believe his story, but he was dead for 45 minutes. He knows it is real.

I knew a gentleman who was in the navy many years ago, and he 'died'. He said he heard his cousin's voice telling him to 'go back, before it's too late,' and when he was back in his body,he got told that his cousin had died the day before. This man was not a Christian and he didn't want to hear about it, but I did ask him to read the passage in the Bible about Lazarus and the rich man, which reminded me of his experience. He did read it, but he wasn't convinced. Sadly, he passed away last year, as far as I know he never accepted Jesus.

Please check out the link to a site of a man called Ian Mccormack, who died as a non believer and experienced both hell and heaven, and came back a Christian.

My partner nearly drowned, she said that she got to a state of complete bliss and wasn't bothered at all if she had of died!
I'm convinced that these images and feelings are from a lack of oxygen to the brain, maybe natures way of helping the body to close down and except death??

My father had one. It is very common. There is no doubt even in the scientific community that they exist. The question is how to interpret them. The brain is not totally dead. So, it is not so surprising.
