Jesus said, Call no man upon this earth "father"
they want to be addresses as "father"
Jesus said, say not your prayers in repetitions as the heathen do, Rosary is just saying prayers in repetitions.
Jesus said, Pray only to the Father in my name
They want us to pray and give thanks to his mother.
Jesus said, for you say thou art rich and lack nothing, I will make you a church of Satan, they who say they are JEWS, and are not, but do lie. The catholic church practices and teaches Jewish traditions, such as circumcision, incents burning, and rituals. Instead of the true BREAD, the Words Jesus spoke is the true bread from heaven, the Word of God.
God the Father said, "My Son will build me a place to dwell in. Tear down this temple and in 3 days I will raise it up,
I am greater than the temple of Solomon and the Sabbath, Jesus said.
Matthew 23 says it all, why I left the catholic church at age 8.

Your wording opens a big can of worms! Many Catholics are born-again Christians and many in Protestant churches are not. No one demonination has a corner on Christian members. Unlike religions, Christianity is not based on membership, but is based on your personal RELATIONSHIP. That is why it is deceiving to vew Christianity as a religion.
I was raised Catholic. Became a Christian while a Catholic, later left the Catholic Church because there are things that the Church teaches that are not how I interpret the Bible. After a few decades, I was able to see where the Church got those teachings (some Biblical, some not) and to see the gospel message clearly within the Mass and the Church teachings, but I didn't see them while in the Church. I have worshipped in many different denoninations: Lutheran, CMA, Church of God, Baptist, non-denominational. There are believers and non-believers in all of them. I have yet to experience a congregation that has only Christians in it. If I do find one, I will wonder why they aren't following the Great Commission and bringing in their pre-Christian family, friends and neighbors.

I am a former Catholic. I am non denominational. I believe a person can be a Catholic and a Christian but this happens by making a personal committment to follow Jesus not by membership in an organization. When Jesus came he said come and follow me. No one can make that committment for you. Jesus said if any man hears and does my words I will show you whathe is like. He is like a man who builds his house on a Rock and when the storms of life came. Notice Jesus said he was the Rock (not Peter) and by obeying his words we were building upon that Rock. The scripture also clearly teaches no other foundation can be laid than that which is laid which is Christ Jesus. as much as he can use people to help us grow he is the head of the church and Sheaprd of the flock. We are to follow men ony so far as they follow Christ. Jesus once said to the most religious men of his day you make the word of God of no effect by your empty traditions. Notice Jesus clearly separates God's word from mens traditions. In my opinon the cathoic church has embraced some of these traditions and teach them as truth. In my opinion some have replaced putting God first which is the first commandment with putting their church first. I should mention I was an altar boy and my brother was going through to be a priest. I don't care for the term protestant because the emphasis of the gospel is not protesting but proclaiming.

My husband and his mother are both ex-catholics, now Southern Baptists. The reason is that they did not feel that being Catholic actually addressed their spiritual needs. For example, as a young man, my husband almost became a priest, then changed his mind. But it was years later before he was saved. How can someone be a clergyman without an actual relationship with Jesus? This has been the primary problem most ex-catholics that I've known have had with their former church. And there have been some ex-catholics in every Baptist church that I've attended.

Catholics are Christians. Protestants, Second Day Adventists, Methodists, and on and on, are all Christians. Jesus, his mother Mary and his father ...are their common factors. Which don't fall under the heading christianity? Islam Hinduism, Buddism, and on and on. That is all I know.

I was raised Catholic. Now I do not believe in denominations. The church of Jesus Christ is a discription not a building, it is all believers who follow him and have accepted his gift. I do not go to church I go to fellowship with like minded Christian's. No priest, we share the duties, each of us takes turns doing communion, teaching lessons, saying prayers. This keeps all of us involved in our fellowship instead of relying on a priest to tell us what to believe.

Catholics and Protestants are member of the same religion known under the name of Christianity, whatever some members of the different branches of that religion may think.
You will also find under that name the Orthodox church, just in case you want to ask a question about them.
