My kids & I have REALLY itchy heads, but I know it's not lice! With 4 kids I've seen that before. We rinse the shampoo out well & the only thing I can think of is that there are a lot of spiders in the house lately, but think it would be odd that they are only bitting us on the head? And would that make you itch? I know this sounds silly, but it's really annoying for all of us! (except my husband who is mostly bald. LOL)

Go get some of the Neutrogena shampoo stuff for itchy heads. I think its brown. I can't think right now, migrane.uhhhh, yah. Dry scalp shampoo or something to relieve the itching from dandruff. It helps. If I do recall the name of it, I'll let ya know.

If it's not lice and it isn't related to a change in shampoo, check for a fungal infection. Either bumps like a rash, or the tell-tale signs of ringworm (it's a fungus, not a parasite) as they are highly contagious and could easily be passed between household members.

Although many have a good idea about the shampoo thing, NO one has mentioned to possibility of HARD WATER. If you have WELL WATER or just plain hard water, it can CAUSE yours scalp and skin to dry out. Use conditioner and make sure you rinse all shampoo out. You could by a water softener also. If you don't have a well, do talk to a dermatologist, who might be able to prescribe a medicated shampoo to help....

My guess would be either something in the shampoo, or lice, or fleas. Since fleas would be obvious, and you said its not lice, I would try switching to a shampoo and conditioner that is hypo-allergenic. If that doesn't help maybe go to a doctor.

Switch your hair products. Sometimes your hair get use to the product and does not work. Try switching products every few months or alternate between two products (Use one this week and another next week).
