Since you are coming from Canada you will have luggage with you. The easiest way is to use one of the shuttle services (Super Shuttle of Primetime) located outside the baggage claim area at LAX. They will take you directly to your destination, and the fare should be reasonable.($15.00-$25.00)
If you don't mind carrying your luggage on the public transit system take the free "G" shuttle outside the baggage claim area to the Metro Green Line station outside the airport. Ride the Metro Green Line to Norwalk Station (the end of the line), and ask for a transfer. Then walk up one level and then take the Metro Bus #460 to Disneyland. The fare is roughly $3.00-$4.00. Enjoy your stay in Anaheim. Most of the area hotels / motels have a shuttle that will take you back and forth to the park while you are here.

I work at LAX and transportation is easy. Take a shuttle under the Orange sign. Either Super Shuttle or Primetime Shuttle or under the Green sign and big Disneyland Bus. Both stop at hotels and Disneyland.

I don't think there is efficient public transportation anywhere in California! You may want to try a shuttle, But that seems far, Can you fly into john Wayne or Ontario airport they are a lot closer. They have rental cars for pretty cheap on line. i know the train goes to fullerton. hmmm good luck :) If you get a rental car get a convertable it has been nice lately.

Oh this question is hilarious. I don't think you need to bother going to Disney....because you are already in Fantasyland!!
But this might help.
