1. Jesus needs to come back to fulfill biblical prophecy. He was promised 1,000 years to rule and reign on the earth. After he removes Satan from the planet, Jesus will inherit his promised kingdom.
2. People that pray for the dead are wasting their breath.
After you die, your spirit goes to heaven or hades. At the resurrection, your body will be raised from the dead and reunited with your spirit in heaven (if that is where you have gone).
How do we know you go to heaven when you die? Prior to the death of Jesus, saints went to Paradise (Jesus told the thief on the cross that he would go to paradise).
Paradise was emptied when Jesus was raised from the dead (he took captivity captive [Eph 4:8 Wherefore he saith, When he ascended up on high, he led captivity captive, and gave gifts unto men.]). Meaning, the spirits of the saints in paradise were taken to heaven with Jesus. That is why born again Christians go to heaven. Because Jesus conquered death and that is why it is a New Testament teaching.
For more information about what happens when you die, you should try to find a copy of Tim O'Leary's: Death, from Glory to Glory.
To find out what Hades is like, read Bill Weise's book: "23 Minutes in Hell". You can even go to http://www.SpiritLessons.com and see or read his testimony.

When Jesus comes back it will be for the Believers that are here. The rapture, it has to come soon or they won't be anybody to rapture out. Those that are already in Heaven have to come back with him and meet up with their earthly bodies they left behind to get a new Glorified Spiritual body. Those who are alive at the Rapture will immediatelly get that body. It does absolutely no good whatsoever to Pray for some one when they are dead. They have made their decision. There is no such thing as Purgatory. Absent from the Boby is Present with the Lord.2Cor.5:8, Also remember Jesus telling the Parable of the rich man and the begger. If you have not become Born Again in this life you will not go to Heaven. John3:3
Its that simple, there is no works we can do either, Jesus already owns everything, how can we do anything that he could not do. Faith in Christ is the only way, as the Bible says the Just shall live by Faith, anything short of a Personal relationship with Jesus will send us into the bottomless pit with the old serpent, the devil himself. That don't sound to promising to me.

People who pray for the dead are wasting thier breath. No one who has been dead and come back can tell you anything about heaven. The few phonys who have claimed this have only one thing to say "oh, its so beautiful..." I suggest you read the Book of Enoch. Paul stated that "a person whether in the body or out of the body i do not know...uttered things which are unlawful for a man to utter..."
Dead is dead period. If you are evil or good or lukewarm to God my prayers arent going to change your day of accounting with the almighty. You are judged of your own accord and deed. This will sound judgemental but ive met people who i definitely dont want to share heaven with, having dealt with them once here on earth was one nightmare too many.
The rapture is "mid-trib" Read Revelations 14 and The Second Woe. We will be here through most of the terrible things that are beginning to unfold right now. Consider the possibility that we are to return with Christ and fight against the forces of evil. How would we go to war without going to bootcamp?
And...
The rapture and the return of Christ are not sequential events.
On the cross Yeshua told the repentant thief "Today i tell you, you will be with me in Paradise..." "And in Matthew 24, "I go to prepare a place for you" I guess there are different levels or dimensions of heaven?

Since the bible does not teach everyone will go to heaven, you make a good point. People only started with the opportunity after Christ's death. Before then, and for the most part afterwards, good people had the hope of returning to the earth and making it a paradise. This would be with God's Kingdom established on the earth as a government. This is the reason for the 2nd coming. Returning as King and taking out the garbage littering the earth.

Ahhh, such naivity. What makes you think we all go to Heaven when we die? Do you think someone who has committed a mortal sin goes right to Heaven, no questions asked? AAHH!! Wrongo! There is unrest in the world that is getting worse. It is evil and evil walks among us. Jesus is returning one day to take that evil away once and for all, but that does not mean we "all" go to Heaven. There is a rapture to where God will take many at one time who immediately go to Heaven. If you really want info, read the Book of Revelation. There you will see why Jesus is coming back and you will see how it will unfold. As for people praying for us...that is supposed to help save our souls, but if we make bad choices, we ourselves will need to go to Purgatory until God can figure out where we are going (i.e. UP or DOWN).

--MOST of these heavenly hopes depend on the pagan teaching the immortality of the soul!
--JESUS COMES in the sense that he will carry on the war of Armageddon and not only destroy the wicked but protect his disciples....
((Revelation 19:11) 11 And I saw the heaven opened, and, look! a white horse. And the one seated upon it is called Faithful and True, and he judges and carries on war in righteousness. ")
.....to be part of "mildtempered ones to inherit the earth" Matthew 5!
---AS SUCH they would be the ones to be those who according to the Lord's prayer ".(....thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven..."Matthew 6) to do the will of his father on earth!
---SOON AFTER Armageddon the actual resurrecting of those who are chosen will take place on the earth which could involve billions:
(John 5:28-29) . . .Do not marvel at this, because the hour is coming in which all those in the memorial tombs will hear his voice 29 and come out, those who did good things to a resurrection of life, . . .
--SO IF everthing is an automatic thing with the false teaching of immortal soul ----WHY WOULD Jesus come back as described in the above scriptures?

Exactly..But we dont go to heaven when we die, thats a lie brought on by the NT..We sleep,in the grave until judgement..Many dont like that truth so its sugar coated, and made to seem like we go to heaven..Heaven will be here on earth..It tells u all about that in the OT.So u right,it does no good to pray for the dead..Shalom

It's too late to be prayed for if you're dead. Jesus is coming back to establish His kingdom once and for all. It will mean the end of war, of evil, of hatred, etc.

The dead sleep right now. They aren't active. Once the rapture occurs, and the dead saints rise first, then the living ones will go to. This will start the Tribulation. After the Trib., Christ will reign for 1000 years. He will give humanity one last chance to come to Him. After that, Satan rises again, and God destroys him with fire.
THEN we will be done. That's why Jesus needs to come back. He wants His world back.

My belief is that Jesus has to come back as the last attempt at gathering his lost sheep before the end of this world as we know it. I also don't believe the majority of us go straight to Heaven when we die. You are to pray for mercy and blessings for your loved ones who have passed. These prayers are meant to assist them on judgment day.
