my friend is diagnosed with social anxiety disorder and they have put him on lexapro and have recently upped his dosage. i would like to know if anyone here has been on lexapro and what sort of side effects it may cause.

I was on Lexapro for about 9 months and had no negative side effects I can think of. I switched to Effexor without any withdrawal problems.

I have been on Lexapro for 4 months. I haven't experienced any negative side effects, but I have heard that it can cause you to be super hot in warm weather.

I've been lexapro for a couple of weeks now. It made me very dizzy, tired, suicidal, hallucinate and have had very bad headaches. But from what I've read it does help a lot of people, apparently just not me, haha.
