there have been more than three occassions where I have awoken in the middle of the night claiming that I have seen a spider either on my wall or in my bed... There was one time when there was an actual spider, but that was the only time it was real. I've been having these "illusions" or whatever you want to call them more so lately now, than ever. Can anyone tell me what this might mean??!

Check your windows or whatever for places spiders can get in. Many spiders are NIGHT hunters and if they find a source of food, aka your arm or something, they return!!! You may have been crawled on more times than you can remember, but subconsciously, your aware! In any event, going through some maintenance like taping up seals around a window close to your bed, etc, will install a feeling of safety in your mind and if it is all illusions, you'll probably fix it that way.
Do a good dusting in the room too. Any and all cob webs or spider webs cleaned away. You could be catching site of one cob web somewhere, again, your not conscious of it and it brings on the dreams...

I'm the same way! We had a spider problem at my old house and since I moved I keep thinking I see spiders everywhere. Even more now that i'm on an anti-depressant. I get ready to scream and then I realize, hey there isn't anything there...unless there is one then I promply wake the neighbors with my scream. they love me so very much...

Are you on any medication? Spider hallucinations are common side effects with some medicines. If you are on medication, you might need a change or adjustment of the dosage.
