If they had a really bad Credit Report what should that tell you?

Please note I never said to do this behind anyone's back. Reviewing your credit report could also be a chance to take charge of your life. It will show where there are and are not being responsible so they can improve themselves. Just because its bad today doesn't mean it will stay bad.

WOW!!!
This received 100% agreement as a good idea by both men & women.

Interesting that the married people I asked didn't have the same reponse.

WOW! That's actually a great idea - I hadn't thought of doing that before, but it would definitely give ya an idea of the type of person they've been in life.

Wouldn't ya rather know now rather than later that they have bad habits?

I wouldn't run a credit report on them, but it's certainly something you'll want to talk about.

Committed couples have to sit down and discuss finances- past, present, and future. It might not always be an easy talk, but it's a necessary one.

If that means getting current credit reports and sharing them with each other, so be it. But, I wouldn't go out and run a report on a partner without their knowledge and consent. That's just rude, and an invitation to an argument!

Hire a PI and have a full blown background check. Check Credit, Medical, Net worth, driving and criminal records. Get a DNA sample and check for ST D's. Interview their childhood Friends. Better run a car fax on their auto, too.

My friend found out his wife=to=be used to be a man. And a pro wrestler.

i do think its a good idea to discuss financial issues that may deter you from something you may want but i think a persons financial history should only be disussed if it pertains to you. not their past years that dont affect you or may not even be how they are living now. it could give you the wrong idea about them.

criminal history is a whole other issue, your life could be in danger a credit report, thats sound just plain nosey.

If my partner has a bad credit report, that basically says they arent responsible. I would consider that somewhat a bad thing. But then again I would ask them about it.

Depends on how bad and what the charges are. My best friend has horrible credit and her husband has excellent...it did hurt them in buying a house but they still have one.

Considering that you're looking to enter a no-limits financial partnership with them -- it's a great idea.
