So they have admitted that the recent immigration from eastern europe is causing considerable problems in most areas of the uk. Yea, its helping our economy but lets stop thinking about money for once and look at the other aspects. We keep hearing of hows theres not enough houses or not enough nurses - how about saying theres too many people here. Opinions?

Nativexile: Back when enoch powell was helping to bring immigrants into britain is was a different world. A post war era where the numbers of immigrants where a fraction of what they are now. Modern day mass media has also led to the world becoming a lot smaller and many more people hearing about Britain, a country where you can make a million. I am detecting a slight lack of vocal opinions from the pro immigration bunch - why have you all gone quiet?

willow: i agree with you totally except the 'voting for labour all my life' part. Where i live in the south east we have a lot of people that vote conservative and have done all their life, real snobs who drive volvos and have no idea what the conservative manifesto says.

I agree a lot of the money is going back to the countries of origin. Mainly poland where they are suffering as the number of useful skilled workers has dropped dramatically as they are all coming here - the EU, aint it great??

willow: for the record - i vote UKIP. But i suppose you were told they are a bunch of extremist right racists, and who told you that, the government? the same government that said we would get a referendum on the EU.

imbackmissme: No we dont have the 'right' to bear arms, we dont need it. And neither do you anymore, you had when back in the colonial era to defend your home against the british and natives. Now you guys just love a good classroom massacre - god bless the NRA!!

Why is the world becomng so obsessed with money - migration throughout history has been for other reasons but now its simply a case of "if i go here i can earn more". Countries that have prospered for reasons is becuase they got things right - next thing you know other people instead of making their own prosperity its easier to just come and take yours. Yes, the hyprocrit brits that move abroad are annoying, but they dont do it in such massive legions (eg trying to get all their family over) and im doubting they start claiming benefits. Its like all the people in their 20's who go and work in australia for the experience, but all the aussies that come and work here - somehow i doubt its for the sunshine and smiles - its for the £££££

Yes, DGW...what was the Wolverhampton stormer thinking of when he arrived in the Windies to rustle up immigrants;

He oversaw the employment of a large number of Commonwealth immigrants by the understaffed National Health Service.[21] Prior to this, many non-white immigrants who held full rights of citizenship in Britain were obliged to take the jobs that no one else wanted (eg. street cleaning, night-shift assembly production lines), often paid considerably less than their white counterparts.

No one else wanted? No wonder we're laughed at from all over the world with our insular 'class' nonsense.

O.K first I need to ask you a little question of my own. Do you think it is a little bit funny how on exactly the same day that a government report comes out saying how uncontrollble immigration from eastern europe is having a negative effect on virtually every public service and social aspect of britain that another one comes out saying how great their contribution to the economy is? I would never suggest that the government would fake a document to make a case (*cough* iraq dossier, *cough* iraq dossier) but them coming out on the same day is an awful coincidence - don't you think?
It also seems funny to me that they actually claim immigrants have a 'better work ethic'. This is such an open ended term what is a good work ethic depends largely on what an individual employer deems it to be, and the fact is that in a free market this usually means working stupid amounts of hours for minimum wage - which is exactly what the majority of eastern european migrants bring to the table. The report even states that on average they work longer hours (no mention of specific numbers here) and earn £60 a week more than a comparable native worker (again funny how a specific figure is given here).
I find this, second, reoprt deeply insulting to the people of Britain to just sit back in a chair and say eastern europeans are better workers than english is effectively giving a social justification for discrimination when choosing an employee based on their nationality. Is it not common sense aswell that the reason unemployment is becoming so high is because these people are prepared to work such long hours, if you get two people prepared to do 20 hours extra a week you wouldn't have to hire another person - and where are they; at the back of a dole queue, that's where!!!!
I personally would be most interested to see what the anticipated costs of meeting the increased needs of society are to cope with this level of immigration. The government report claims they make a £6 billion contribution to the economy but fails to state what the actual cost is of them being here - I suspect the extra health care costs and educational needs alone would all but half this.
Anyway, enough of my rant, your question was in regards the social aspects of things. My opinion is the same as yours - YES there are way to many people here already and I do think the government has admitted it but in their usual fashion have chosen to ignore the problem, lock the door in their ivory tower and hope it goes away.
I used to vote BNP until I saw a documentary on the level of racism instilled within the party; I now vote UKIP despite what the government is trying to do in tarnishing them with the same BNP brush. Unless I see evidence of their hate I consider them the ONLY choice for a continuing britain. Just to back up my point; I don't know how many of you out there know it aswell, but the guy who posted the road pricing petition on the downing street website that got well over a million signatures is now standing for UKIP in Telford, a man prepared to stand up for millions of us is again preparing to stand up and be counted - it's about time people looked at their own values and voted with a party that represents them rather than just voting for either of the big (or as I like to see it 'the complacent') two ; labour or conservative.

Not sure i agree whole heartedly with you but I would be interested in chatting to you about your views and how we can work to overcome the issues you obviously have about the vast numbers of immigrants the recent governments have allowed in to our once great country. We are working towards setting up a new political party to reflect the needs and desires of the real people of the country. Please contact me directly.

as per usual.

other countries such as Spain, Thailand, France etc have the same problem - with tens of thousands of Brits moving there.
Migrants move to wherever the economy/standard of living is greater. As Britain is arguably declining the immigration issues will resolve according to economics with the poorer moving in and the richer moving out. There is little any government can do as natural geographic boundaries are all too easy to breach.

We live in a country that is bursting at the seems with immigrants.
Education has to be worked around ethnic groups.
Civil unrest is on the increase.
All crime is on the increase despite false statistics.
Who can we vote for?
Labour is no longer for the working class.
Conservatives have never been for the working class.
Liberals are wherever the wind blows them.
They all lie.

The B N P appears to be my only choice I'm saddened to say.

Immigration is the biggest factor in the Uk.Because of it we are unable to give proper Health care, our kids schooling is at an all time low, housing shortage is severe and young people when married cannot afford a home of their home. The party conference season is over and during it not a solitary word was spoken about Immigration. We ourselves are not allowed to mention it in the fear of being branded racists. The British are not racists we are the most kind and generous people on earth. It took America 268 yrs to give the vote to the Black people but we are expected to solve our problems overnight....Impossible.

Even if we pulled out of the EU now I don't suppose we can deport all the workers that have come here as they have be invited to this country lured by jobs.
In Poland the have had to advertise in India and China for workers to go there as we have taken a large percentage of their skilled workers. Cadburys is opening a factory in Poland they are lured there because of the low wages paid at the cost of jobs to their loyal staff in this country. So perhaps we should give up chocolate (saves us all getting obese). They are also training bus drivers in Poland to drive on the left so they can come here and keep the wages low for our bus drivers (who are paid a low wage in this country already for the amount of responsibility and lives in their hands.
