If your talking FEDERAL minimum wage, it went from $5.15 to $5.85 last july, it will go up to $6.55 July 2008 and finally $7.25 in July of 2009. Now, depending on what state you are in you might have your own STATE minimum wage, you would have to check. But unfortunately, if the state minimum wage is higher than the new federal, a business can still pay the lower federal wage (due to it's small size and lower income per year.) You really have to check with your own state. Call an accountant!

Babidoll's info was good for the first couple sentences, but wrong at the end when she said that employers can pay the lower of state or federal minimum if the employer is small.
See http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_U.S._state_minimum_wages for info by state.
