Deuteronomy.

Depends upon your definition of "innocent". Adultery can get you killed as well as not being Jewish.

Numbers 31 comes to mind. There are a whole lot of captive mothers and young boys killed and virgin girls kept as plunder there.

Being a gentile living in the promised land would have been horrific.

Does the story of Jerico ring a bell?

You guys live in a city, on the land that God promised us. So we are justified in killing every one of you and will curse anyone who takes any plunder.

Seems to me like the children of Jerico could have been innocents, but then again maybe I just don't get it.

The floods in the Old Testament. The invasion of the of holy land by the Israelis. The plagues. There are plenty of more examples in well known stories.

How about that whole flood thing?

The first-borns of Egypt?

Isaac's son?

For starters.

4 Kings (2 Kings) Chapter 2

2:23 And he went up from thence unto Bethel: and as he was going up by the way, there came forth little children out of the city, and mocked him, and said unto him, Go up, thou bald head; go up, thou bald head.

2:24 And he turned back, and looked on them, and cursed them in the name of the LORD. And there came forth two she bears out of the wood, and tare forty and two children of them.
