This is for Brian and CJ and others with the same attitude. You constantly claim that the Bible is the sole authority and that Catholics do not follow the bible. If we are to follow only exactly what is written in the bible, then is it your opinion that it is okay to have sex with animals or engage in necrophilia? After all, Jesus never specifically condemned these acts.
Your personal doctrine appears to be only to follow exactly what is in scripture, and if it's not in scripture (ie: Mary's perpetual virginity, etc) then it is simply not true.
So, does the fact that beastiality and necrophilia are not condemed in the bible make these acts are okay?

CJ, I'd like to read that passage, and even if it's in there, that still doesn't cover necrophlia.

Brian. Of course I'm serious. You claim you follow the new law as set down by Jesus. Tell me where Jesus specifically condems those acts. He doesn't.
So do you think it's ok or do "interpet" Jesus's words as meaning it's not okay?

Brian, CJ, Suzi, and "jesussaves" (lol) are nothing but a liars, bigots, and haters: the worst sort of Christan, and an embarassment to the rest of us. I cannot fathom how they spew out scriptues from one side of their mouth, and venom out of the other.

Honestly, up until I started visiting YA I had just assumed that the various branches had issue with the Pope, and I realized that the Holy Bible was slightly different so I figured it may have something to do with that. Basically, one person or group had issue with the Catholic Church and split, and so on and on. As for Baptists specifically, the ones that I have met have all seemed really nice, although I can't we've spoken specifically about religion, but they seem like good people. As for Baptists alone, I would assume that they put a large emphasis on Baptism, but the how's and whys I don't know. Also, I guess they may feel a special connection to John the Baptist, but again that is only based on name. I must note, that I can't speak for everyone, but I've been to 4 or so different Catholic Churches, and never once have I heard a Priest or anyone else even mention other denominations let alone bash them. Really, we don't discuss it at all, thus my ignorance on many of them before my time YA

Jesus never specifically condemned those acts but the Old Testament does. Jesus was addressing other Jews, who would be familiar with the Law and so already know those things are wrong. He didn't NEED to condemn it, his intended audience were aware those things were wrong.
As for Catholic 'bashing' personally, I never mean to offend anyone. But there are some aspects of Catholicism I don't understand and don't see as biblical. Like Mary's perpetual virginity; she had other children with Joseph, 2 of her other sons even wrote parts of the NT (James and Jude). So I just don't understand why Catholics insist she remained a virgin. If you could explain it to me, using the Bible, I'd be grateful.
God bless you

Because they forgot what Jesus taught us,...
"Amen, amen, I say to you, whoever believes in me will do the works that I do, and will do greater ones than these because I am going to the Father. "... John 14: 12
Yes, the Bible was compiled to assist us in our journey, but we do not just stand and take everything as it is, we must make use of our God-given intelligence to seek for more truth, to challenge ourselves to grow more in our faith.
The Bible hold accounts of what has been, and also the promise of what will be.... But in this time, our God given time, we are called to do and continue His works. We hold the pen to write what is happening today. Do not get me wrong, I'm not saying that we add to or revise the already written Bible. I am saying that we can have dogma, teachings, guidelines set/written based on our knowledge of what is good and what is evil based on the Bible or on our God-given wisdom.
Sometimes, some things are already implied in the Bible. Once, we find the truth in Christ, all other truths come easy.

Your logic is backwards. Just because something doesn't appear in the bible doesn't make it true or untrue. The old testament does make reference to beastility but it doesn't make to every possible sinful behaviour. These things should be obvious under the law of do unto others as you would have them do uto you. Scripture makes no case for mary remaining a virgin for life. Why would God require this of her? Especially considering he told Jospeh to marry her. So they lied together for the rest of their lives and had to resist their God given urge to go forth and multiply that God told Adam and Eve to do. How then do you account fo rthe fact that Jesus had brothers. Even more important why is it necessary for Mary to remain a virgin? Sex isn't sin for married people. Again God told Adam and Eve to go forth and multiply before they fell. So why would Mary need to be a virgin for the rest of her life? By claiming that Mry was an eteranl vigin you are putting her up on a pedastel. Others tried to do this in the bible and Jesus corrected them for this. In the new testament soe people came to Jesus sayin blessed is the womb that bore you and the breasts that gave you suck and Jesus answered yes but even more blessed is anyone who hears does the word of God. This wasn't a put down of Mary but he simply put her in proper perspecitve. If you start inventing stories about people in the bible then how will you know what is true and what isn't. This is why the Apostle Paul said if I or an angel from heaven preach any gospel other than what we have preached let him be accursed. This means we have the right to question and the responsibilty to reject anything that doesn't line up with the gospel that they preached. Fortunately we have those gospels so we can compare them to the new doctrines that slowly crept into dogma but not scripture. I should mention I am a fomer Catholic and altar boy with a brother who went through to be a priest. So I may disagree but feel no hatred towards anyone. My bigger concern is that people are putting a wrongful emphasis on men when Godclearly said in the bible he will share his glory with no man. For Mary to hear prayer of millions of faithful praying to her around the world at once she would have to be omni-present to hear them all at once or have God like powers to be able to comprhend all those requests. This would require a God like mind. We have no indication from scripture that she possessed any of these special powers. It would be in Satan's interest to get mens eyes off of the saviour and focus them on people. Do you really think Mary would want tha to happen? Finally it is wrong to accuse everyone who disagrees with us as being haters. They could make that same accusation about you. A more realistic approach is to say they disagree. We need to be careful that we don't make extreme assumptions. Jesus warned the most religious people of his day "you make the word of God of no effect with your empty traditions". Notice how Jesus made it a point to keep God's word seperate from men's traditions. We need to be careful we don't follow into that same trap.

I hate to admit it but I pretty much agree with Catholic Crusader on this point. And sorry but beastiality is condemned in the Bible...
Leviticus 18:23
" 'Do not have sexual relations with an animal and defile yourself with it. A woman must not present herself to an animal to have sexual relations with it; that is a perversion."
Leviticus 20:15-16
" 15 'If a man has sexual relations with an animal, he must be put to death, and you must kill the animal. 16 " 'If a woman approaches an animal to have sexual relations with it, kill both the woman and the animal. They must be put to death; their blood will be on their own heads

Don't let them get to you to much. The atheists don't hold a monopoly on trolldom.
They can not follow their Sola Scriptura either. They are just as loaded with Dogma as your church is.
Actually you chose two bad examples. sorry but I thought I should mention that. maybe if you ask some of the atheists for some help. a lot of them are pretty good at tearing the bible apart.

I am not a Catholic basher but the story of sodom and gamorrah mentions distate for beastiality as does the new testament where Jesus speaks against homosexuality. I would hope that necrophilia were simply not up for question....eeewwwww!

You know these people seem to be hurting inside at the level of the soul and hurt people hurt other people,it is in the nature of opposition to attack and by this validate their own warped agenda, they are more to be pitied than scolded and anyone with an ounce of common sense can see that they have no discernment of the Holy Spirit within them.

I'm not saying it's OK to be mean.
I do think you need to read the Old Testament a bit more though, because this is taken care of there.
