Someone at my work has been eating my leftover lunches I stick in the refridgerator. This happened twice. First time it was a half eaten burrito and yesterday it was some half eaten chicken quesidilla. Another co-worker told me that her sodas and bagels left in the refridgerator have been stolen as well. I wanted to put some chocolate cookies in the fridge w/ laxatives in there for that specific person. Will I get in trouble?

Not if it is in your lunch bucket or if it has your name on it and someone steals it. Only if you give it specifically to someone.

I did that in high school. I had an English teacher that always showed surf movies on Friday. We were allowed to eat in class. I thought it would be funny to bring in Ex-lax for all the people who mooched off everyone else and never brought in anything to share. Well, I had chocolate and this guy and gal kept coming back for more. I tought it was pretty funny! But the next week, after they came back from having diarrhea all weekend, they were pi$$ed at me! So much that they never talked to me again. I'm 60 now, so I can't really blame them. Be careful if you decide to make those cookies. Other people might eat them too, and people will get sick. It's not as fun as it seems.

You probably could do it without getting caught, but do you know for sure that that person doesn't have a sensitivity to the ingredients in it or isn't taking another drug that might react with it?

Laxatives are a DRUG and if you do get caught, you can get into an awful lot of criminal and civil trouble not to mention probably lose your job especially since you've described the situation publicly in some detail on a message board.

The adult way to handle it is to talk to the culprit and tell them to cut it out or take it up with a manager.

Go ahead - as long as you don't mind getting fired if they find out you did it.
Instead of being childish, try going to your supervisor and explaining the problem.
If you get no satisfaction there, then go higher up the food chain (pun intended).

As mentioned by one of the other poster, if the person who eats the cookies has a reaction, they could possibly have you arrested for assault or mischief.

Just a thought...

you might need a laxative. Follow the directions on the package and wait for results. If that doesn't work, you might want to go get checked out before you have a bowel obstruction.

Wouldn't it be far more satisfying to put something that tastes horrible? For example, if you're baking your own cookies, maybe make them with salt instead of sugar!

How would they know who cookies they are unless you say something. No one will know that you did that. I think that is ignorant for people to eat your food at work. I had that happen to me before. You must feel guilty about it. At least you'll know who did it.

No, they are your cookies! Nobody told that person to eat your cookies. Dont put arsenic in the cookies, then you might go to jail.

Let us know how it goes - maybe there should not be toilet paper in the restrooms??

i see your point and honestly im not sure if you could get in trouble or not the only thing that would worry me if i was you, is that everything you do to someone you will get returned to you... so be careful in what you decide to do cause it may come back to haunt you when you least expect it!

While I find this quite hysterical and sympathize with your problem, my only concern would be a possible allergy.
Sorry - I work in a hospital and I am always in safety mode.
It's rare but it could happen.
lmao
