My (right) wrist has been hurting for a few weeks. Today it really hurts but yesterday it wasn't so bad. It hurts more when I bend it back rather then bending it foward and seems to be more painful on the same side as my pinky finger. It's also hard for me to grip and lift heavy things. Any ideas on what could be wrong? Do you think it's worth getting check out?

Carpal Tunnell Syndrome is when your median nerve is impinged or compressed but that wouldn't refer pain to your pinky area. The ulnar never affects the pinky area of the hand and travels on the "pinky side" of your arm. It sounds like you might have golfer elbow or medial condylitis which is an inflammation of the medial(pinky) side of your elbow. If that part of the elbow is inflamed, it could effect the ulnar nerve which travels on that side of the elbow. You would have difficulty with sensation and opposition (touching your thumb to your pink) which would affect your ability to grip objects.

I wouldn't get it checked out unless it gets worse. Most family practice physicians and Internal Medicine doctors can see this.

Suggest you seek medical advice, this could be hyper-mobility, arthritis, golfer/tennis elbow, RSI, so best to get it checked.
