How old are you? Do you have a budget? For my parents 40th, my sister and I are sending them on a weekend trip to Charleston. Weekend trips are a great idea. A getaway. Many bed and breakfasts have a getaway package for just a few hundred dollars. If you have a couple siblings, that's not bad at all.

One thing that takes a lot of time but is a wonderful idea is asking all their friends to submit a letter about a special memory shared with the two of them. We did this for my grandparents 50th anniversary. A lot of their friends shared high school memories or trips they have taken together 30 yrs ago. It was such an accurate description of their life together and a great scrapbook to look at for years.

you could get them a newspaper from the day they got married,

i never buy my parents gifts because they have everything they need so i normally stick to tickets to shows like grease or Chicago so they have memories instead of tangible gifts.

if tickets are too expensive put a small party at home on from them invite 10-15 close friends and family, stick some crisps and nuts in a bowl and some sausage rolls in the oven

I think it should be 'a doing something together' present - like learning experience together ..eg. salsa dancing, pot holing, hot air balloon ride or host a special 'this is your married life' evening/party with friends and family x
