As a sorta backslidden Adventist (not gone to church in about a year), I have seen some changes in the 20+ years I was attending. One of the reasons I joined the Adventist church was because of the Social programs in other churches (Pastor's anniversary, choir anniversary, deacon/deaconess anniversay, pew anniversary, church anniversary) and the list goes on. The Adventist did not have those programs back in the day. Now I have seen that as Joe Crews put it Creeping Compromise creep in the church.
As most people use to tell me when I joined: " Perfect message but not perfect people".

I am sorry that you felt that the video you watched did not praise God, but only praised the church. That is unfortunate. Because Seventh-day Adventists are often confused with other denominations, some information may be intended primarily to identify those distinctions.
Seventh-day Adventists are Christians who believe in salvation through Jesus Christ. We also believe in such things as the Trinity and that the Bible is God's inspired word.
Our most distinctive beliefs from other Christian denominations is that we follow the example of Christ (Luke 4:16) and the apostles (Acts 17:2) and observe the seventh-day (Saturday) Sabbath.
We also believe in the soon return or second advent of Christ (hence the term Adventist in our name) for His people.
God Bless!

First of all Adventist do not believe they are the only true church or that people will not be saved if they are not Adventists.
Any miniory church will put out vidoes introducing themselves that are a little shrill and self agrandizing.
The Adventist are scriptural literalist in everything.

I was raised an Adventist. They follow the teachings of Ellen White; she is their prophet. She was part of the William Miller movement. She supported the fact that Christ would return on October 22, 1844.
Well, we know how that turned out!!!
She has made numerous predictions/prophecies which time has proved wrong. Many of "her writings" which she claims
"God (or an angel) showed her" have been proven wrong and /or proven as plagerism.
Of course the Adventist church denies this completely. They have to because if you don't believe in Ellen White's interpretation of scripture then you can't make the Bible say what Adventist believe it says.
They constantly refer to themselves as God's remnant and if you have been one of them and leave they believe you will not be in heaven unless you come back to "the truth".
Adventist refer to those outside their denomination as "non-adventist". How much does that tell you about the emphasis they put on being in "their remnant church"?
Adventist belittle the work of Christ on the cross. He gives you salvation but it's up to you to remain "sinless" enough to keep it. They use lots of double talk to worm their way out of these kinds of discussions if you question them. They will only tell you a piece of what they believe not the whole.
I know, I used to be one of them. They are a Christian cult.

They were praising the church??? I find that hard to believe. The main basis for all of SDA's beliefs is what God says in His bible and they take what He says in His word as their ultimate pattern. They are called Seventh Day because they keep the 7th day sabbath holy like God says to in His word and they are called Adventist because they believe in the second advent or coming of Jesus Christ.
You can study their beliefs on this website that has study guides you can read online. Check it out yourself with your Bible and the holy spirit before you decided anything about them. That's the best way.

Anyone who says you can only be saved by their man-made religion and it is the only religion, is not the truth.
