The road to hell is not paved with good intentions. That statement was coined some time in the 1600s--England, actually. It's part of a body of sayings popular among people such as Samuel Johnson. Thus, it could really only be applicable among English-speaking Protestants, leaving the rest of us out of its snare.

The road to hell is paved with good intentions is a way of saying it doesn't matter if your intentions were good if you actions were bad. (For example, Hitler wanted to save Germany) I think you know that is what it means and you just want to stir people up.

As usual, the quote is deliberately misunderstood for stirring-up-trouble type purposes.

As I hope to heaven most of you are intelligent enough to figure out, it means that if you don't stop and figure the consequences of your actions and your reasons for those actions, even though you meant a positive outcome, there's a good chance that the outcome will be negative instead.

It's paved with yellow bricks. Along the way there's a scarecrow, tin man, and a lion. Don't forget to take your little dog too.

You've got it all wrong. The road to hell is paved with independant thinking. The road to heaven is paved with fear, guilt, and bribery.

it is not a matter of intentions...it is a matter of following ones true will...if it is one's true will to do evil and they do evil then they are doing what is true to them

Don't try, it's useless. Heaven and hell are not what you've been told... How I dislike marketing techniques!
