Moses said that you could not add to nor detract from the words of the Law. John said that you could not add to nor detract from the words of the revelation. Neither one had anything to do with what we now call the Bible because the Bible did not exist when they wrote their words.
Nevertheless, The Book of Mormon does not add to nor detract from either text. It is a separate text that comes from a separate source to further testify of Christ and His work here on earth.
It is scripture and is a companion to the Bible. They each testify of the other.

Jesus never said anything of the sort; the Bible didn't even exist in his lifetime. Well, except for the Old Testament, of course, but if he said we shouldn't add to the Bible (which at that time would have been the Old Testament), wouldn't that kind of negate the whole New Testament?
You can read the whole Book of Mormon here:

To my knowledge, Jesus said nothing of the sort.
John said no man could add to his revelation. Moses said (in Deuteronomy) that no one could add to the law.
But JESUS never said anything about THE BIBLE. NO one in teh Bible ever said anything about THE BIBLE, because there WAS no such thing as THE BIBLE. You can't talk about, or write about, something that won't exist for another almost thousand years.
Besides, I would think that GOD can add to His words any time He wants to. All He needs is prophets and apostles to write those words.

You are right. The book of mormon is not an authoritative book. This is a quote from Lee Strobel's The Case for Christ. It comes from an interview with John McRay, PH.D.
Although Joseph Smith claims his book of Mormon is "the most correct book of any book upon the earth" archaeology has repeatedly failed to substantiate its claims about events that supposedly occurred long ago in the Americas.
As authors John Ankerberg and John Weldon concluded in a book on the topic, "In other words no Book of Mormon cities have ever been located, no Book of Mormon person, place, nation or name has ever been found, no Book of Mormon artifacts, no Book of Mormon scriptures, no Book of Mormon inscriptions...nothing which demonstrates the Book of Mormon is anything other than myth or invention has ever been found."
On the other hand archaeology backs up the Christian Bible all the time. If we dig in Israel and find ancient sites that are consistent with where the Bible said we would find them, that shows the Bible's history and geography are accurate. One prominate archaeologist carefully examined Luke's references to 32 countries, 54 cities, and 9 islands, finding not a single mistake. These are only some sites that have been excavated: The Pool of Bethesda in John 5:1-15, the Pool of Siloam from John 9:7, Jacob's well from John 4:12, even Pontius Pilate's identity has been confirmed by archaeology! John McRay PH. D. was asked if he had ever encountered an archaeological finding that blatantly contravene a New Testament reference he responded, "Archaeology has not produced anything that is unequivocally a contradiction to the Bible. On the contrary, there have been many opinions of skeptical scholars that have become codified into 'fact' over the years but that archaeology has shown to be wrong."

It is a creation to make a new version of Christianity. However, the Book of Mormon doesn't agree with or even compliment the Bible regardless of what Mormons think.
I am not defending one version of Christianity over another.Just pointing out that one version of Christianity isn't consistent with mainstream Christianity and seems to contradict the very premise of Christianity and the Bible.Personally, I think it is all rubbish. But, if they want to sound like they know what they are talking about, they should at least know where the Book of Mormon has gone wrong. My link does just that.

Anyone can add or subtract from the bible all they want. It is just a book. Now that doesnt mean that you can take a bible and scribble in non-sense about how Jesus and his apostles were all cross-dressers and expect anyone but yourself to believe it. but the Bible is not set in stone and has been added to or subtracted from many times over already

To answer your first Q: It is the most awesomest book on earth! It is equal to the Bible, and I love studying both. But if you were to truly read it, you will find a great love for it as well. It is the BOM!
Second: The Book of Mormon is not added to the Bible. It is a seperate account of the people of Ancient America; Christ's 'other sheep' who he mentioned in....John 10:16?

Scripture was always accompanied by works of redemptive history. God's working with the Jews, God inspired the O.T. God's redemption to all mankind through the blood of Christ came with the writings of the apostles. Scripture ended with the apostles. The N.T. revealed all that was needed for man to be redeemed and is finished in it's purpose. It explains God's new covenant with his people and goes to the end of the ages. Thus, there needs to be NO more revelation. This by the way exposes the fraud of Islam also.
The Book of Mormon is a fraud. There was no reason for it. It is scientifically, archaeologically, and textually a fraud.
