What do you think about people marrying illegals?

Somebody post a question that made me think a lot about this situation that is getting more and more common.

I want to know what the general public in Y!A think about this...

I reserve my personal opinion

Thank you all for the answers, with exception of a couple that were not objective I got a decent feedback.

And yes, I was referring to people who marry because they are in love. Marrying for other reasons (whichever they be) is out of the question.

If you're a patriotic American then you wouldn't marry someone just to give them U.S. citizenship. But if it's in true love then that's your personal decision.

You shouldn't hate illegal img you need to hate your Gavement, I strongly think any human who dont like other human for no reason just because he or she is illegal they need realty check.Personal I call them NAZI. I think that if someone knows that another person is here illegally, they should not get involved with them in that way. If someone does not know that another person is here illegally and gets involved with them, and later finds out about the illegal status, they should threaten to break things off unless the illegal gets legal. Period. It's about the law. Would you get involved with a tax evader? An embezzler? Not much difference in my opinion.

Are all illegals bad people? Of course not. They are mostly good people who have made an illegal decision. I welcome them all if they do what it takes to become legal. If they are not willing to do so, then they are breaking the law.

Also, when an illegal marries a citizen, especially if the illegal wants a shortcut to legality, the citizen can never be sure if the illegal married them for love or for how it can help their immigration status.

I am married to a once illegal man. I married him because regardless of race or stautus here...I love him. I personally do NOT agree with people who marry for other reasons(mr./ms. "if the price is right") Marriage should be for love.

I think its fine. So long as the illegal in question leaves the country and enters legally. Illegals need to be made aware that marrying a legal citizen does not automatically make them a legal resident. Besides, how the hell are they getting a marriage license without proof of citizenship or proof that they are a legal resident?

Why would a thinking, proud American put themselves into the position of becoming involved with an illegal alien? If your self esteem is so low that you feel that an illegal is your equal, then go for it but be prepared to move with your illegal when he is deported. Then you can be the hated Americano wherever that may be.

The same way I feel about anyone getting married If your talking about people in love Happiness and maybe a little jealousy. why is that an issue? If they are getting married for residency the same way I feel about people who marry for staus or money you get what you asked for heart ache problems and nothing you wanted.

Obviously, it's suspicious. One reason for an illegal to marry a citizen is to gain legal residency.

If they want to get married, that is fine with me. I don't believe that should in and of itself change the status of the illegal alien.

I think that is setting themselves up for heartbreak and a life far more complicated than it has to be.

Let your lover get legal first then take it to the next level and make your relationship legal.
