My dad died at a very young age too, a very painful death. All the prayers didn't work, but later I understood that was his life. He died a painful death, and my mother had to stand by watching him dying in front of her eyes, with us the little kids standing by her. I was 31/2. I don't even know him, only from pictures and stories. Your dad is in a better place. Pain free, watching over you. Your dad could be your Gardiner Angel and you wouldn't know it.
God does listen to you. It doesn't mean He will answer you right away. There is a reason for everything, I hope you will come through out of this victorious and happy. Think of David and how his own brothers sold him to slavery, and it end up to be what saved their life when they went hungry looking for food for their family after the famine.
Don't let you hard trying time break up your strong relationship with God.

Praise and thank God that your dad did not die unsaved but died in the Lord and he is only absent from the body but present with the Lord. God did not have to save your dad or you. The Lord never promised a Christian that everything would be the way we want it to be. He never promised that we would never experience pain and suffering or that our loved ones would not die. He did promise us that HE would never leave us nor forsake us and He also said nothing would separate us from the Love of God which is in Christ Jesus. The bible says we all have an appointed time to die so when that time comes all the prayers in the world will not stop it. Get your eyes and mind off of you and stop doubting that God hears you because He does hear the prayers of His saints and talk to Him about Him. Thank Him for the privilege of knowing Him and tell Him how great and awesome He is, praise Him for his loving kindness, mercy and grace; thank Him for the gift of salvation and worship Jesus for giving His life as a ransom for you and your dad. The Holy Spirit will comfort you, because He knows that you are hurting. Think about all the people who do not have a relationship with Jesus and they are in this world having no hope and without God according to Eph. 2:12.
Remember; Jesus died a very painful death at a young age too.
Cast all your anxiety upon Him, because He cares for you.

God does listen. Jesus told us that we're going to have affliction in this world but to not lose hope, He overcame the challenges in this world.
The Bible speaks about long-suffering. There are many Christian doctrines out there that show a loving God, friendly seeker, and life being like a picnic.... These doctrines are misleading. We are to read the full Bible and learn from all different circumstances and events, not only the happy easy short cut side.
We don't understand God's big picture. Part of believing in God is let him be God. We need to trust Him.
I've been a Christian for 18 years and gone through many trials I don't deserve. I trust the Lord and love Him with all my heart. If it pleases Him to give me an awesome gift wrapped in suffering paper, I am saying, 'bring it on Dad', my life is not about me and my agenda, but about the purpose He thought of my existence and how He is using me to minister others.
The bridge you are crossing will help you bless others that don't know how to go to the place you are, just make sure to have the right heart attitude. A joyful peaceful heart is a blessing in the sunny days, but a must during the storm.
Keep the faith and press on!

Are you sure it is not an answer of prayers...is dying and going to heaven not a blessing?
I know it's hard to think outside our own needs, and of course it is a loss for you and the family, but...
as a Christian, there is no higher award than being taken home and spend eternity with God
May you be aware of God's blessings,
(and yes God do answer our prayers, but not on our conditions..)

God is listening, I lost my mother when I was young, so I know a little of what you are feeling, he is the potter and we are the clay, Remember if your dad was saved he is in a much better place than being here. God had other plans for him, now its time for you to get on with your life, pray for Jesus Christ to come and give you peace in your heart and new outlook on life. He has plans for you, just you. And you need to be getting on with them. As long as I prayed about my mother God would give me no peace but when I let it go life got better. He was telling me to just trust in him and start being the man I was supposed to be. My mother was 30. She was in the Hospital for a year. Let God have it. Have a good cry and pour it out to God and ask him for peace and believe, you will find it. Remember the good times and cherish them, you will see him again, but not yet!!!

I'm sorry you are going through a difficult time. I also just recently had a difficult situation. I tried everything and I had to rely on God to fix it for me and to get me through it. My pastor and friend told me that I was in a good place to be and once I'm over it I will understand. He knows that I always fix my own problems and this was one that I could not fix, so I had to pray and rely on God to fix it. God's time is different than ours. What seems to be a long time for us is just a blink of an eye to God. So be patient and keep talking to him. One thing that I did was I fasted for a day. If you read the Bible you see clearly that most everyone fasted during difficult times. During a fast, you pray during your normal meal times. This will help your cause with God and he will definately hear you by doing this. Just be patient and keep the faith.

Sister, the Good Lord does hear your prayers, but sometimes we have to learn from what is happening in our lives. That doesn't mean He isn't listening, sometimes the answer is no.
Have faith! The Good Lord knows what is best for us.
God Bless

I am so sorry for your loss. Please ignore the first couple of answers that were posted. Have faith and believe. Sometimes God answers our prayers and sometimes He does in a different way. I know you loved your father and it hurts because you miss him. I cried for two years when my husband died. I kept on begging Jesus to raise the dead and why didn't he just do it - he did it in the bible. I was angry at God and my husband. But my husband was ill and was suffering. I don't know if your dad was sick or what but maybe God had a good reason why he didn't answer your prayer. My aunt's mom had cardiac arrest and was comatose and the doctors said she would probably pass away in the night. Everyone immediately went to the chapel and started praying. My aunt begged "Please let her live and I don't care in what state she is in just don't let her die." Her mom regained consciousness that night but was never able to walk, never able to speak, never able to feed herself. She lived like this for 11 years. My aunt always said she regretted her prayer. She said she knew her mom hated living like this and she realized how selfish it was for her to pray that way. You don't know what God's reasons are but your prayers are NOT unheard. Please pray for Jesus to send you comfort. He will. I will pray for you to be consoled. Let the Lord lead you through your sorrow. Cling to Him. He is your rock. His strenght is gentle but wonderful and loving.May God bless you and your family.

Put the full armor of God on right now and pray. Satan is really doing a number on you and you've got to shake his hold on you . He is the father of all lies and he is feeding your thoughts against God. Get active in the Spirit . Pray and start reaping the fruit of the spirit .Ask for Peace! God works in his time, remember he knows best. I'll pray for you ,too.

God DOES hear and answer ALL prayers......yes, no, or wait awhile. He sees the big picture for our lives and knows what is best for us....just like a parent would be to their children.
We can affect the outcome of our requests by living in disobedience to God, by not having faith, by not asking for God's will to be done, and by being impatient.
God wants to give us good things....and things that we want....more than our parents want to do that. But, it needs to be for our best good. (Matt.7:11)
Job's requests were answered when he prayed for his friends. (Job 42:10)
I will pray for God to put His arms of love around you and hold you close to Him. Tell Him everything and I know He will answer you.
