It's a gesture of respect that dates back more than a thousand years. We're VERY traditional in Rome, doncha know.

What's liking got to do with it? It's what you do. I certainly don't mind doing it. I was raised to be courteous, after all.

Once, because it's a matter of simple etiquette, and the fellow did make the effort to visit our rather small and non-outstanding parish.
