Do what religious people really do.
Talk with your friends and family about it.
Religious people claim to turn it over to God, but then go around telling people that they had a problem they had to turn over to God. They then tell all about the problem and what might be causing it, and why they have to lean on God for support. Their Christian family member or friends will then tell them that its good they turned it over to God and then give them ideas to solve the problem.
Just like the rest of us discussing it with friends and family

The question asked is "errored:. You can turn it over to God as you have free will.
You should have asked it this way "Since I don't want to turn it over to God what can I do as an athiest."
The answer to that is obvious. Change your way of thinking.
Don't be a fool. In the bible it says "A fool says within his heart there is no God."
So what are you? :-)

Nobody can turn their problems over to anybody...
It's what you DO about the things that you can change.
Disregarding a "God"
If you have faith that it will get better, then your subconsciously going to make it better...with the right attitude of course. Good luck with your problem.

Address the problem. Being an atheist means that you don't have to be a fatalist and trust everything to chance, calling it 'God's will'.
Hurrah!

Note: You cant turn anything OVER to God as an atheist except your LIFE to receive salvation. Then He'll help you 'turn over a problem to Him'. Atheists want to keep things on their own terms....God doesnt work like that.
So, in your adamant refusal to do that....I guess you're left to struggle with it till alcohol, drugs and therapy have sufficiently failed, uncontrollable depression sets in and you kill yourself in despair? You said atheist right?

Solve it. If needed turn to family and friends for support and advice. Read up on various solutions and research organizations that can help.
Edit:
I like the one with duct tape and WD40 - that is truly sage advice. Cheers!

Whatever you like. I personally prefer a solution? There is no atheist guide or even suggestion of what you 'should' do about anything because it's only being without theism.
What should you do as a non-racist about a problem?
What should you do as a non-pedophile about a problem?
What should you do as a non-smoker about a problem?

Um, how about work to solve it?
Pretty simple, common sense...
"turning it over to god" doesn't do anything anyway, since there's no god -- so people who do that just ignore problems and hope they go away. Yeah, that's a good way to live your life, ignore your problems! (wink)
Peace.

Put all your burdens on Christ and he will see you through... It doesn't matter what comes out of any athiest or any non-believers mouth.... That is why they speak... To put doubt in your heart where the love should never leave from.. The devil makes them do it..

Talk it over with REAL people and deal with the problem in a constructive way. Don't wait for someone to fix the problem for you, work your way through it.
