That's a good point. What an interesting idea.
If the undereducated are taxed, then why are churches tax exempt? That is a serious loophole.

No, I'd say xtianity is a tax on the under educated. But not Judaism. Most Jews I know (literally thousands) are more educated than the average American. The difference is, we pay our temple dues and go about life, and in the event of an unexpected financial crisis dues are renegotiable for a year, whereas even an Appalachia dwelling xtian who is sucking the system dry with food stamps and medical assistance and fatherless children will STILL dump $20 into a collection plate at church and let those of us who bothered to educate ourselves and prosper through work and study pick up their tab via taxes.
Then they bit*h because we won't let them mandate prayer in the public schools we don't use for own kids and we pay for with our taxes!

The profession of shaman has many advantages. It offers high status with a safe livelihood free of work in the dreary, sweaty sense. In most societies it offers legal privileges and immunities not granted to other men. But it is hard to see how a man who has been given a mandate from on High to spread tidings of joy to all mankind can be seriously interested in taking up a collection to pay his salary; it causes one to suspect that the shaman is on the moral level of any other man. But it’s lovely work if you can stomach it.

Well my church tithes, but not with collection plates, and our money does NOT go to the preacher, because we don't have preachers. All people in our church have a secular job; unless it's like a stay at home mom/dad kind of thing or are currently unemployeed, but we help with that too. You should do an honest day's work.

It's an option and it's not used by all religions. In fact, mainstream religion (Methodists, Baptists, PResbyterians) doesn't use it.
The pass the plate. HAve a box. They may charge a membership fee to those who want to participate in the Church in a voting or saying basis.
The Jews just charge a membership fee.

It's the "love for money" is the root. I would also suggest grammar and spelling classes, maybe that's why you couldn't read the Bible.

I mostly agree, except that there are two types of religious people, those who are ripped off, and those who use the religion to rip off others.
