It isn't hard.

What's hard for people is to accept the arrogance of some fundamentalists who feel the need to try to scare people into God's arms with threats of hell and damnation. What's hard for people to accept is those fundamentalists' hate-filled version of the Gospel, a PERversion that says to hate and exclude in Jesus's name.

Because to accept him would mean to have to turn from sin. And the problem is most people enjoy sin far too much to want to have to alter their behavior until they have experienced enough destruction. The addiction of the behaviors will eventually turn on them and we can only hope they won't be to proud to get the help.Unfortunately at this stage some will have acquired some deadly disease or condition directly related to the behaviors. All the false anger and arguments are a facade for people who simply do not wish to give up the pleasures of sin. If Jesus was no more real to them then Santa of the tooth fairy they would have ignored him with the same lack of intensity. The bible warns us (self included) the pleasures of sin last for a season. Like one honest atheist put it we don't believe because we don't want to believe. That was Huxley's (Darwin's Bulldog) grandson that made that telling statement.

Because people generally don't respond well when others are jaming an idea down their throat. If a person does not believe, then telling them they have to is just going to turn them further away. No one likes to be told that they have to change their entire belief system or their going to a place of doom and suffering for all enternity.
If you feel you must preach the gospel, do it in a non-threating way. Discuss beliefs; don't condemn theirs or enforce yours. Tell them what you believe and listen to their beliefs without judgement or questioning. They will most likely respond positivly, rationaly and they will probley be more willing to accept your beliefs, although not neccasarly following it. In addition you might learn something about your own religion that you never considered before.
Belief comes from inside, not outside. Eventually everyone finds what they believe in, be it Christanity, buddism, or pagan, becouse it works for them. No amount of preaching will change that. No one can force another to believe in something that goes against what the values that they hold dear.

It may be easy for a child brought up in a Christian environment to recognize Jesus as his savior just as Muslim Children will accept Mohammad as the last Prophet. Yes?
However, it may be very difficult for people to accept Jesus as Savior if they grew up believing that Mohammad was the last prophet...no?
That's not too hard to understand...is it?
Now if a Child grows up in an environment of equal fundamental Jews, Christians and Muslims he/so may be so confused that he/she may be an atheist. On the other hand, if that environment is made up of true Jews, true, Christians and true Muslim, there may be no need for religion since all would be worshiping the one true God with no name.

Based on pure numbers I'd say it's a pretty easy thing to do. It's much easier than critically addressing the claims made by all supernatural belief systems and doing the homework required of a rational, natural, secular human being. This stuff is hard work.

I have a couple of reasons why I don't accepy Jesus as my savior . No 1 I don't understand how anyone who died two thousand years ago can save anyone now . To me , he might have been able to save someone back then , but his saving days are long past , very long past . No. 2 What exactly did I have that he might save me from ? I'm in no danger of any kind , so I don't have to e saved .

People have a hard time believing something that they can't see. Faith is believing in Jesus and God with out seeing him. But people who don't beleive in Christ want some kind of proof

That's because Jesus isn't their savior, rather they are their own savior.

Jesus nor God will not save you on Judgment Day. If you don't believe me, review your Bible.

It's written in your Bible that Jesus will only save his own body, which Apostle Paul teaches that Jesus' body is the Church. And the church is liken to the Ark of Noah.

So if you want to be saved, you have to save yourself and get inside that boat before it leaves.

Jesus will not knock on your door and tell you that it's time to leave. In fact, it's written in your Bible that he will come unannounced, like thief, and if you're not ready, you'll be left behind.

Why is it so hard for you to accept the earlier gods your jesus was based on?

let me guess: you're american, you're from a red state, and you don't understand the difference between your beliefs and the objective truth,

Nobody has ever provided any evidence that any gods, much less a specific god, exist. People believe in specific gods because of indoctrination from an early age, tradition, hallucinations, fear of torture (for gods sadistic enough to threaten it) and other similarly illogical reasons. But no gods exist in reality; these are all stories, created for people who were scared of the world long before we understood it. Now we have no more reason for these superstitions.

My self-esteem is a bit too high to think I have to think of myself as nothing but a miserable sinner who has to kneel before a tyrannical god. i'm a damn fine person in my own right and i don't need a savior.
