Ever wondered why women convert to Islam?

As a former Muslim I can answer this quite easily. Basicly they meet a Muslim guy(who isnt religious) and do zeenah(fornicate).

Now as all men know who had relations with a woman of another culture, they suddenly want to be like you. They want to know all about your culture, they want to learn your language, they want to try out traditional clothing.

So she decides she wants to be a Muslim. She suddenly forgets all her previous beliefs, religious and political and moves to accepting all his beliefs, including polygamy, punishments, treatment of women,ect.

the 2nd reason some convert is this. Islam has many many rules and clear understanding of the qur'an, while the new testament for instance is not so clear and christianity changes based on the era, such as before usury was as evil as murder, now it is accepted. So they come across the qur'an and read some books and websites and come to like the stability of beliefs in Islam.

So they convert and become fascinated with the idea of marrying a foreign guy who in all likelyhood just wants a greencard(huge problem in the US)

happily it is the same as when your girlfriend wants to wear the same brand of clothing as you. If you wear Nikes, then she will too. Seriously why would a woman want to be a Muslim the proper way if she is having sex with a bad Muslim? She is obviously a fake "revert" who is infactuated.

Peter most converts in USA are women. Mainly middle aged and divorcees with no children. Atleast from the ones I met my 9 years as a Muslim.

Safi I did not say there was no process. What happens is once they get there greencard they begin to treat there wife like garbage until the woman seeks divorce, if she seeks divorce he keeps his greencard, but if he seeks divorce he loses it.

Also some wait until they are citizens, then they divorce. I know an algerian for instance who once he got citizenship he divorced his American wife, then flew to Algeria and married a girl from his town 13 years younger than him.

Also sheikh means old man but it seems you are interpreting it to be a religious scholar? Ghana has no recognized Islamic ulama(scholars). and Ulama only marry Muslim women

I can tell you why my sister convert to Islam.
It was the only way she can divorce her husband. Later, she meet a Muslim man whom she loved, and he loved her. But, the family were not so good to her, especially his mother. She was Muslim by name only. The love they had, was lost. Little by little, they became apart. He left her, and she was heartbroken. Now, she is back to what she use to be.

In as few words as possible. Women convert to Islam, because they want to hide, or a matter of convience. They don't want to be taken care of. Hiding behind the hijab is a good way of tell others, I am not hiding, I am practicing my faith. They don't have to look like models, be on top of the fashion, and never worry or others looking at them judgmental look how fat or skinny they are.
Catholic are not permitted to divorce, so the only way they can is by changing their religion. Some priest convert, because they can't marry. By becoming Muslims, they can have up to four wives if they can offered it.

The Quran seems doesn't change, people change and the Muslims want to stay back in the past.

Yvonne Ridley, was not American, she is British. She was married before to a Muslim man and had a girl by him, and never converted. But, worried enough, after she was kidnapped by Muslim, and married one of them, they let her go. She now says they treated her well. If they did treat her well! they wouldn't have kidnapped her in the first place. I don't wonder why they convert. I wonder why they stay. Maybe it is the fear that they may get killed for converting out. Prevent them from leaving it, even after they know how Isalm view the woman. Maybe!

This is an interesting point. I too have noticed that, barring the left-wing hippies, most converts I've seen have been women. Given the tenets of Islam this makes no sense, unless you identify as submissive.

They also appear to be spiritually uncertain and seem to be looking for something to join and be a part of, like Ren Fest types.

On a more pig-headed note, I notice many are also humorless and overweight.

On most Islamic websites, they use pretty words and exaggerated terms to rally up[ converts. They also lie alot such as saying that Neil Armstrong converted to Islam after he heard tsomething Islamic on the moon (That claim came up on almost all the Islamic websites)

On every Islamic website, they have a 'why other religons are false' section. Just look. THERES ALWAYS ONE.

They also hide all the bad stuff and only give off good stuff. People convert without knowing the bad side of Islam. They also make up those fake science claims.

You have stated that the religion of Christ is not as clear as the religion of Islam and that this is the basic reason why women switch to Islam!

Can the religion of Islam be summed up in only one word like the religion of Jesus Christ?

"Therefore, whatever you want men to do to you, do also to them, for this is the law and the prophets." Jesus Christ. Matthew 7:12.

When Jesus spoke these words, the New Testament did not yet exist. Today, if He walked this earth, He would most certainly include the writings of the Apostles as well, for, in the book of Galatians, the apostle Paul, under inspiration, says,

"For all the law is fulfilled in one word, even in this: You shall love your neighbour as yourself." Galatians 5:14.

Can it be said that a man loves God if he does not love his neighbour as himself? Not according to the religion of Christ!

In light of the words of Christ, can it truly be said that the Islam religion (or any other religion for that matter) is more simple and clear than the religion of Christ?

Alternately, they read and analyze and decide that Islam makes more sense than other religions. Pretty much the same thing that happens with women who convert to any other religion; including the one that would have her stoned to death for sex before marriage...

Islam gave women rights 1400 years ago when women were treated on par with animals in all of the other religions at the time. Remember women were only allowed to vote in this country about a 100 years ago when Islam gave women that right 1400 years ago. It's only recently the world has given women rights which were given to women 1400 years ago in Islam.
What do you know about the zoroastrian religion, let me give you some facts, they worshipped the moon, sun and wind, they believed sick people were possessed and tied them up and left them to die without food or water, once dead they didn't bury them but left them to be eaten by birds and wild animals, they gave animals more respect than women, they allowed a man to marry his sister and daughter,they allowed a rich man to marry hundreds of women and then once he was tired of them he could hand them over to his friends to enjoy.So please do your research before claiming the zoroastrian religion gave women more rights than Islam.How dare you call me a fraud, do some research and don't be ignorant.

Actually I knew a girl who converted while she was studying abroad in a mostly Muslim country. Neither of your two choices fits her case. Your question isn't a question, it's a vehicle for you to voice your opinion. Could it be that some people choose it of their own free will after having seen it in practice?
