I remember when I was little, around 4ish I think I would have this dream every once in a while. I would be an only child (I have 3 brothers in real life) and my parents were scientists. We were all in my room doing some experiment with 3 other people. I think it was a special mask that made you look like a vampire. So the person would put it on and my parents would be like "Good, now take the mask off" and the person would alwways say "What mask?" Then I would know he was a real vampire so I would run down the hall normally, but when I went down the stairs I would go really slow, and this mummy would be chasing me. Then after I got down the stairs I would run into the piano room and hide there, then wake up. I probably had this dream about 5 times. It was pretty weird, but I don't think It meant anything.

When we dream, our brains take a bunch of random 'snapshots' from our memories, and try to make sense of them by tying them together in a story.
Without knowing more about the dream, and your daily life, there's not a whole lot anyone will be able to tell you.
Most of the time dreams mean nothing. If your having the same dream over and over, it could mean that something is bothering you. If your thinking about it all day, every day, it will surely end up in your dreams...but not always in an obvious way.
Dreams are pretty complex, sorry I couldn't be more helpful.

Yes, it does. Recurring dreams are about issues in your life that need resolution. For example, when my first marriage broke up, I was dreaming about mis-mated shoes all the time, and also dreaming about being in the car with my husband in the driver's seat, and the car would run out of gas, or reach a dead end, or something of this sort. The dreams keep presenting themselves, because of an issue that you don't wish to deal with, or you are too distracted in your waking life so as to be unable to offer yourself the time to think about it and work toward closure on it. Sometimes people have recurring dreams of a happy or spiritual nature, and these seem to me to be of a different sort. They seem to be a signal, or marker of some sort, a dreamish "atta boy" for marking an important transition, resolution of a problem, or ascending another level spiritualy, things like that. If you have a recurring dream that is bothering you, you should post it for interpretation, two heads are better than one, and out here you will likely find any number of heads ready to chime in on it. Some of them might even offer some insights you can use :)
