"Be good to each other."

That's what you'd have left.

It's too bad most followers of the bible can't see THAT forest for the trees.

Sheesh, you make it sound like a dirty novel or something. It's not. Sex and violence are a part of life. God recorded people's sexual sins for our learning - so that we can learn how NOT to behave ourselves! Same goes with violence. Violence is part of life too, what's the point of denying that it exists?

Besides, sex isn't bad in and of itself. Why shouldn't it be in the Bible? It's not like God gives a whole lot of graphic descriptions of sex anyways (well, there IS a story about Onan that's a tad embarrassing to read!). And when there is a slightly more graphic presentation, it has a purpose (and it's still a far cry from all the porny romance novels out there...). What's the big deal anyways?

Do you watch movies with sex scenes and violence? That's worse. Get over yourself.

Sex and violence aren't the ones that makes Bible interesting to read. Sex in Bible is boring and the violence is boring too.

If I want to read sex and violence, I'de rather read Greek Mythologies. Zeus is such a player, Ares is all about violence, and Aphrodite is such a whore. The Bible has nothing compare to these.

You seem to miss the point. All the "sex and violence" was committed by those who disobeyed God, and God punished those in the OT who disobeyed Him, bringing the violence back on themselves.
But now in the NT, God Himself took the punishment instead, so that we are not living under the curse of the law (like having to be stoned for dissing our parents and such). When we accept Christ, we are free and clear from our sins, but this does not give us free reign to sin. If we love the Lord, then we obey Him.

Wow, I'm amazed at how uneducated you atheists are about the bible, while still pretending to know what you're talking about.....

Where'd all that anger and hatred come from? You're so busy accusing Christians of hatred you can't recognise your own. You can't see the flaws in your own argument, because you don't even know what's in the bible.

It's a book of love and sacrifice. The greatest love of all. God so loves YOU, and me and all of us, that He was willing to come to earth in human form and die for our sins.

"You seem to miss the point. All the "sex and violence" was committed by those who disobeyed God, and God punished those in the OT who disobeyed Him"

So when God physically punishes people, by killing them and what not, that isn't violence? Ah the muddled mind of a believer.

Have you even read the Bible? I doubt that you could even show me one instance where sex and violence attributed to the salvation of mankind.

I always get a kick out of the part of A Clockwork Orange where Alex is all religious because he LOVES the sex and violence in the Bible.

There would be about 50 pages if you took it out.
