I think of God as a Heavenly Father, with all the things that go with being a father. So your question would really mean what do fathers want from their children. I can name a few things love, respect, obedience, tolerance, a friend , and also an heir. The same as Jesus, it's like he's our oldest brother and we are his brothers and sisters. The main things most people don't realize is that he wants us to come and live with him someday. Just like a father, he wants to see out children and our children's children,, It will be a huge family reunion in heaven when we get there.

Just to have fun! God is love... It is written throughout the Bible... In fact he LOVES to laugh at human suffering! Why do you think that he created a sulfuric burning Hell to torment for ever and ever the vast majority of the human race that he LOVES so much?
Job 9:23 (NIV) When a scourge brings sudden death, he mocks the despair of the innocent.
Job 17:6 (NIV) "God has made me a byword to everyone, a man in whose face people spit.
God endorses every word that Job says..
Job 42:7 (NIV) After the LORD had said these things to Job, he said to Eliphaz the Temanite, "I am angry with you and your two friends, because you have not spoken of me what is right, as my servant Job has.
Job 42:11 (KJV) Then came there unto him all his brethren, and all his sisters, and all they that had been of his acquaintance before, and did eat bread with him in his house: and they bemoaned him, and comforted him over ALL THE EVIL that the LORD had brought upon him:
There are hundreds and hundreds of referencences in the Bible that "GOD'S LOVE" is of a sadomasochistic orientation...

God wants for us to find His love, and to accept Him. God wants for us to understand the true meaning of freedom. God wants for us to stop living in hatred, disguist, and abandonment. God wants to us to want more for ourselves than we have accepted on this Earth.

He wants us to be "a member of His family, a model of His character, a magnifier of His glory, a minister of His grace, and a messenger of His Good News to others" (Warren, 2002, p.342).

If he is omnipotent, there could be NOTHING we could give him that would make him feel good...i mean omnipotent beings don't even have emotion...and omnipotent beings can provide themselves with anything. what do you get the guy that has everything?
so, if he exists, he wants nothing from us. i find it EXTREMELY pretentious that a monkey could think he could give something to please a GOD! you want me to fling some poo at you god? or maybe make you a pie? want me to pray to you? or give money to another monkey? sheesh.
we are ants. if there is a god, he might get a chuckle at how cocky we are to think we are important...but i doubt an omnipotent being chuckles either.
