I have hyperthyroidism. My thyroid distributes too much hormones. Its nothing life threatening and it really isnt serious. I have to take this pill for life. I was wondering if i could still join the Navy with this.

Current hypothyroidism uncontrolled by medication is disqualifying, per the source below. I would suggest if it is controlled by medication you get the lab results from your doctor to document that prior to getting your physical done.

a Navy recruiter could give you a medical Waiver to allow you to join with your hyperthyroidism. but your best bet is to ask a Navy Recruiter

Sadly enough I think this is one of the things that will disqualify you, you may be able to get a waiver, but doubt full when you have to take a pill for life, Uncle Same doesn't want to pay for this sort of thing, but dont take any bodies word for it, everybody has a different experience, and believe me, things with the army change ALOT!! Good Luck to ya though!

Check with you local recruiter. There are some medical issues that will keep you out. Others that won't.

You can't join because you have to be off of all medications during boot camp. Sorry.

i can't imagine that that would keep you from being able to join the navy.
