I can't say without knowing what the dream was and I would be surprised if anyone else could. Usually, I understand dreams pretty well. Why don't you mail me with it and then I can tell you,

As someone who is on the fence about whether the devil and or God exist or not I can only offer this :
If you are actually afraid that it could be a product of the devil then rest in the fact that you are on the side of God.
I don't think this question is goofy at all btw.
Personally, I have a lot of disturbing dreams that involve killing.
I'm usually a vigilante in my dreams which seems good, but the way I do away with some of the characters is pretty horrible.
In conclusion I would say If there is a God, he's going to win every fight in the end.
Don't fear the dream (s).

Asking Jesus to show you a sign is not exactly what you should have asked. He wants you to use your faith and you might ask instead, Jesus, if you are real, please let me know you. Now that's a question He would welcome. The "sign" thing just irritates God, because it shows no faith. He really honors the tiniest bit of faith.
Dreams in the O.T. were definitely something God used to speak to people. Not so very much in the N.T., but there are some cases. Satan is certainly an imitator of God, with less power though. Actually when I have a horrible dream, and I've had some doozies, I can directly attribute it to medication. So, I would first ask, did you take some medicine that day? In any case, I wouldn't give it much importance and would erase it by singing hymns, or good thoughts. Satan has only the power over you that you allow him to have. Christ has already conquered death, hell, and the grave proving His power is mightier that satan's.
God is very real, as is Satan. If you doubt God, then Satan has accomplished what he intended. I will pray for you to exercise the faith God has given to you and that God will fill you with His peace.

With out telling us the dream we cannot judge it it be from God, the Devil, or just a nightmare of your own making. However here is a few standards I will give you to judge by. Jesus would give you a dream that showed you the horror of hell if you asked him to. This may have been a way for him to tell you of the hell you will have to endure if you do never believe in him. The devil will also give you a dream that is like that of Gods but he is the father of all lies so thus he would be trying to turn you from the truth.
This is what I would do. Get down on your knees tonight and ask the lord with the same faith or more as you know know it is possible for him to answer, to tell you if this dream was of hell and sent by him and if it was, that he give you also a taste of heaven in the same manor so that you would know it was of his hand by which you had that dream. Now a few of the things you should find in heaven would be family peaceful feeling etc., a feeling of being in Paradise.

It might be psychological. Since we are taught from a very young age that if we don't believe we are going to Hell. When you were questioning your faith your mind could have produced it. If this was a sign that Jesus is real, wouldn't have been happy or warm or comforting instead of the opposite? You might also be frustrated and trying to find an outlet for your thoughts lately. I would recommend sitting down and thoroughly going through everything you remember in this dream from feelings to events to things that just seem insane and out of place and think of what those things mean to you. You can also look at dream dictionaries online and that might help with the symbolism.

Same thing happened to me. One night I had a dream someone was torturing my pet dog. I do not believe it is the devil, though. Having bad dreams is normal. We live in a society where things like horror are pushed to the limit (see the movie Hostel), so it is not surprising how morbid our dreams can sometimes be.
I would not take that dream as a sign from God, but at the same time I would not rule out God's existence. It is those who believe without signs or seeing that are the most blessed.
It is kind of hard to answer your question based on the limited details, so if you would like to e-mail me that'd be great.

Ma'am,
It may not be Satan giving you a bad dream after you come to the conclusion that God is not real. God deals with people in their dreams, and if you are turning away, He may be showing you what you are getting yourself into. The last thing Satan would want to do after the Lord loses a child is scare them. He's going to do everything he can to comfort you, so you grow comfortable with your renewing position on God.
God sent you a dream. Nothing prophetic, but apparently moving. Stay with God, trust me...I hear Him move and speak everyday, if you don't, then pray a little more. We are too close to the Rapture for people to be giving up now.

If there is a God, and if there is a devil, and if you are honestly looking for God, then the devil will try to discourage your search for God.
My wife and I are both Christians, and we are a team... we've moved a lot... and some of the houses we've lived in, she gets bad dreams about demons... she tells me, and I pray... and the demons leave... and they don't come back...
It's a spiritual battle. While I don't know all the specifics of your dream, I'd certainly consider it a possibility.
The devil can only whisper and suggest thoughts... he can give us ideas... many of which are either lies, or half-truths.
Ask for prayer... and be as specific about what you see in your dream as you can.

In regards to your dream i truly think you are battling demons , due to the fact that you are questioning your belief in god, makes it alot easier for those demands to step in. Not
knowing the facts of the dream, it may have been a message in the dream. I am a firm believer in Jesus Christ and i think the best way to find your answer is to take time to say a silent prayer and ask god to direct you to the correct answer through the bible.

Most dreams are made up of personal attitude and stem from your daily life. if you have been real worried about some thing lately then this could be what you mind is processing at night while you sleep. think about what has been going on in your life as of late & see if you are not worried about any thing to that point of bad dreams.
see if I am right ask "what am I faired of at this time"
