If God answered your prayer...you already have your answer..he reads our thoughts and the holy Spirit even adds to our prayer murmurings we do not hear. So yes..God answers silent prayer too.
Sounds like the minister is a little legalistic...no WRONG on this one. Ask him where in scripture it says that silent prayers cannot be heard by God?

Just goes to show you that we should be able to ask God things for ourselves. I think your minister is wrong. I almost always pray silently. Other people don't need to hear my prayers.

I do the majority of my praying silently. I don't know where that minister got that idea from. So far, the enemies of Christ can't read our minds, so, no matter how much they try to extinguish Christianity, they are doomed to fail. The power of prayer will defeat them.

Yeah, you can pray silently and God will still answer your prayers.

Praying silently definitely works. I would point out to your minister the passage you referenced in your question. If he continues to contradict it after that, then it's time to find a new minister.

You can pray out loud or silently- whatever makes you feel more in tune with God.

You can pray silently. Your preacher is mistaken. If God can do anything, I think that would also include reading your mind.

God definately can only hear you if you pray outloud. In fact, it has to be in perfect English as his French, German, Spanish, etc is a bit rusty. Also, he hates mumblers or praying with your mouth full.
