My cat has been missing for three days, which is very unlike him. He's fat and old and hardly leaves the house anymore. We let him out early in the evening and haven't seen him since. Our neighbors said they heard a cat fight a few nights ago, but we went looking everywhere and can't find any sign of him. Could this cat fight have possibly been a cat and a fischer cat fighting? Are there any signs to show that a fischer cat has been around? Two of our neighbors cats have disappeared...one about two or three years ago, and one about a year and a half ago. Do these disappearances link at all?

If you've got fisher cats in your area you also have coyotes, which attack, kill and eat cats and small dogs. Cats also can get into fights with raccoons (the raccoon wins, they can beat down dogs so a cat won't stand up to one), or with other cats.

You could also have a dog in the area who kills cats. At this point it's all guess work until/unless you find your cat or his remains.

Rarely do fischer cats "attack", unless provoked. Usually they stay away from people in general, and populated areas. Unless you live in a very rural area, like deep woods or marshes, I'd say no. Sadly there are many other animals and people too to suspect. Could she have been hit? Attacked by a dog, or a roaming feral cat? Fischer cats may the culprit but it is more likely that it is a neighborhood dog at fault, since its a recurring issue. Good luck with your kitty, I hope he comes home soon.
