There are fewer calories in the lite (compared to non-diet soda anyway).
There are fewer chemicals in the Lite than soda.
High fructose corn syrup used to sweeten non-diet sodas, and most of the artificial sweeteners in diet sodas are believed to increase risks of cancer and other health issues.
Beer does contain alcohol, however, which can have some health issues as well, besides imnpaired judgement, alcohol can be damaging to the liver (in excess) and perhaps increase risk of certain cancers.
I think I'd pick the Lite...

Beer is definatley better for you than soda. It won't rot your teeth and it makes you feel good. Its safer to drink then water even, due to the boiling and alcohol which sanitizes the beer, so to speak. But I would hope to have a better beer then Lite. How about a Lagunitas IPA?
