And I don't want to hear the obvious (slow down, get a radar detector, etc.) but just some little tricks that not everyone may know about, like certain types of roads or conditions)

1. Avoid the number #1 lane on the Interstate.Thats where the cops point the radar. People can get by with driving 30 mph over in the outside lanes, but not in the fast lane.

2. Driving in the middle of a pack of cars is one of the best ways to avoid a speed ticket. However don't be on the back of the pack. Cops love to pull people of the back of the pack, to give them tickets. No the old I was just driving with the flow of traffic won't work.

3. On that note, one way to avoid getting pulled over for anything. American cops never ever pull over a car thats beside them, or behind them. I know they do this in other countries, but American cops are too afraid of getting shot at. I don't even think American cops have a clue as to how to go about pulling over a car, if they aren't behind it first.

So if you are driving fast, and suddenly find yourself about to over take a patrol car. Put on your brakes fast. Even if you know he saw you speeding. Don't pass him. Try to pull in the lane behind the cop. What ever you do don't pass him. If you get in front of him, he's going to stop you.

Then watch out. His next step will probably be to pull off the road. After you've gone by. He will try to catch up to you again from behind. Don't let that happen either.

4. Avoid areas with heavy traffic enforcement. You know these areas . They are the ones when every time you drive down that street or road, you see red and blue flashing lights behind cars on the side of the road. If you have to drive through these ares, make sure your driving is perfect. Right down to using your turn signals. Because you will eventually get stopped, if you don't.

Best alternative. Drive around these areas on back roads, or secondary, minor streets. No cops there so you can do pretty much whatever you want.

I could go on but thats all I have time for now.

What you want will make no difference once you get to jail, and people there want to use you as the object of their raping. You can avoid that reality in the first place by knowing the rules of the road and obeying them.

You could get yourself killed by speeding, so you no longer around to get a ticket.

The police do not patrol all highways with equal vigor. People who live in various areas are observant where the speed traps happen to be around their neighborhoods, so by driving the highways that do NOT have the speed traps, is one answer to your question ... you have to know people in the area, who are willing to reveal this info, because they are also driver maniacs.

There are police stations where the police cars get parked when they have their shift changes, so right after that, and right before that, the police are congregating via the immediately around streets ... half of that police traffic is in unmarked personal vehicles ... well you need to know where those nexus points are to avoid including in your speeding patterns.

Have you heard of "stealth" which the US government invented years ago to make aircraft more difficult to see in the skies by enemies, and various other nations invented long before that to make ships and soldiers more difficult to see, or detect.

Well some of that thinking can be applied to your automobile ... the goal is to make it less visible to the police radar, without making it more likely that you will have an accident with other vehicles ... you want other motorists to see you, you just not want police radar to see you. Is this legal? Only so long as the legislature not know anyone doing it.

Even if not legal, it not matter until you are caught.

Radar detectors are illegal in many states, so you need to figure out how to disguise the "casing" that yours is contained within, so that in the event of a cursury search of your car by the state troopers, the radar detector is contained within something that looks like something else, that you might say is broken that you not yet got around to getting fixed.

If you get busted, it's probably too late. But you can try the novel approach of respecting the officer.

This is one of the scariest scenarios for a police officer pulling an unknown person over. Who's in the car, what ELSE is in the car, etc...So you can at least help alleviate some of the officer's stress by keeping your hands on the steering wheel at all times.

When pulled over, put your right turn signal on and make your way to the right side of the road. Slow down, and take your time to find a place where you can fully pull over out of traffic. They HATE when you are in the fast lane and pull off to the left side!!!

If it's nigh or dark, turn on the dome light.

Always say Sir or Ma'am.

TELL the officer what you are doing before you do it. When they say, "Can I see your license and registration" you say, "Of course. My license is in my purse (or wallet) on the seat (or it's location)". And then reach for that area ONLY. When you go for your registration, proof of insurance, etc, tell them it's in the glove box and reach for it slowly. Don't talk with your hands or wave them around! No quick movements at all.

More tips: try to smile.

Don't ever take an attitude with a police officer (and sometimes that IS hard not to do).

Basically just be nice. They're just doing their job, and it doesn't matter a bit if we agree with them (or even if they agree with the particular law you just broke).

dont be the last in line when speeding in a group in the fast lane. always be between cars or in the front.

oh, and buy a radar detector.

also, dont drive a red mustang or a sports car.

also, slow down immediately if you think a cop is around.

when you are speeding, check your mirrors very often to insure a cop isnt coming up on you.

The real trick to avoiding speeding tickets is to duck at the last moment as they come speeding along. They usually come up from behind you on the left. They make a distinctive sound once they are within about three hundred feet; kind of a "pffft-tfff-ooooiiii" that sounds like a dromedary slipping on Jello into a razor-beaked fanark's lair. Oh God, it's so horrible, what with the rotating knives and the acid shower. But you know, the dromedaries deserve it; after all you remember when the dromedaries took over the world and we had to get on the Giant Space-Ark and come to this planet and the government told us not to tell anyone about it.... opps.

Get out of the practice of thinking you're an exception. You're not. Even Paris Hilton had to go to jail.
If you're thinking of contesting a citation you've already rec'd, hope the cop doesn't show to court. It's your best bet. His radar doesn't lie.

Slow down. Plain and simple. As a cop I ALWAYS gave a ticket to any woman who showed a lot of skin. Wanna know why? Because the next time she gets pulled over and it doesn't work, she'll complain that the last time she got busted she got away with it because I "made" her show me something. I'm not risking my job for a set of saggy jugs. Slow down. Or leave earlier. It's that simple. I've seen enough death caused by people who think they're at Lowe's Motor Speedway.

What are you talking about?? There aren't any "tricks". If you're speeding and a cop sees you...you will get a ticket. There is no way to speed and look as if you are not speeding..

there are no tricks other than to slow down. i use speeders as 'smokey bait'. u are the one's i use to run the interference for me, and 55% of the time, i'm catchin up with u about 3 miles down the road after u shot past me at about 80. i gave up my days of speeding back in the mid 80's. 20+ years ticket free now. i prefer it that way.
